There is now a later belt which is supposed to be safer. You will have to look back at earlier posts to see the detail.

Have a major fail on my 2015 1.2 puretech 110bhp with 107000 km on the clock.
After a breakdown on the highway the car has been towed to the Peugeot garage.
After first examination the mechanic reports that the timing belt has started to crumble and the debris from it has clogged the oil system causing issues with oil pressure.
The car has been serviced by the book by an authorized Peugeot garage (as recently as September this year) and cam belt replacement is not due until next service that is 20000 km away.
It is out of warranty. But the garage will try to make Peugeot take the costs since it might be a type related issue and car has been properly serviced.
So you guys driving this engine with lower milage than mine might want to have the belt and oil system checked before you are hit too.
Cheers!

Had the exact same happen to me. Timing belt crumbled at 64k miles into the oil and all clogged up. I know how it feels.

2018 1.2 Allure 68K miles fully serviced and the belt still started to breakdown and clog the oil pickup strainer. £1700 pound for a known fault repair and 7 days in a Peugeot dealership for repair.
This is an expensive car to run if you have to change the timing belt so frequently just to keep it running!!!. Maybe my car choice was a mistake.....
I have written to customer care in the hope that they can help with the cost, but don't hold out much hope.
Certainly seems to me that the wrong material was used in the design of the timing belt.
What is annoying is Peugeot know of the problem but will not acknowledge the fact openly and make a change to correct it. There will be lots more of these problems in the next few years!
Just had to get it off my chest!!!

Is it correct yours is a 2018 car? So it would be the new design belt. And isnt it still within its 3 year warranty?

Warranty on the engine is 65K miles mine has 68K, 2 1/2 years old, strange that it fails just outside of the warranty....
Just a thought, others on here have said the new belt has a 100,000 km or 6 years belt interval, that would translate to about 62,000 miles here. What does your manual state is the required interval for belt change? If you've gone over and it's recently been in for a service it may put you in a good position if they should have picked up it was due a change

Not sure what Euro 6.2 is but it is 1.2 puretech. as for belt intervals. 112500 miles. Which ever way you look at it. The belts are not fit for purpose, should be recalled and fitted with something suitable.

Why is there such a variant in belt interval? All info on here states new belt from 2017 has solved the issue, but that the interval was reduced from 10 years to 6 and the mileage was cut to 100,000km. Does anyone know why this 2018 model hasn't got the reduced interval? Was it an official change?

If belt change interval is 112500 , I think your engine manufactur day is 2017 and older version of engine ?
But it is clear that there is nothing to do that your warranty is expired. Peugeot have to repair that free of charge

Oh that would be great if they did. I am about to speak to Peugeot and see what they have to say, Your info has been a great help and help me to fight my corner.
I have written to the customer care in the UK but not heard anything yet.
The car was built to order and I had a three and a half month wait to get it, so it sounds as if I was unlucky. The order was placed in October 2017 so it was probably given the older style engine.

is it

is it hard for you to enter the vin and see yourself what car age do you have ?

Surely even if the car was an older one or older belt or whatever, if Peugeot have changed the interval wouldn't that override the cars manual. So if it had gone to Peugeot for a service at say around 60,000 miles shouldn't they be saying it's about due now

Ever since I got it then there's always been problems. From the start, airbag fault... few k miles later, oil clogged with timing belt pieces, crankshaft position over advanced, you can't name it all. it's just too much. im replacing the car soon and im getting lawyer as this car was in an accident before buying it and I wasn't notified of it... can't wait to change from this problematic french car
