Just to emphasise, this not the POI nor the warning zone we're talking about.
Do you have a photo of this menu item? Could not find alert settings actually in my menus.. That's very weird. We are talking about the SMEG+ (2014-201*) right?

I have this menu structure (basic options):
Cog wheel -->

Behind OPTIONS, i have these:
[ROUTE CALCULATION] [TALK] [CONFIG. WARNINGS] [OPTIONS TRAFFIC]
Behind [CONFIG WARNINGS] there is only "PUT WARNINGS RISKZONES ON" and
[V] SOUNDSIGNAL (this one is ON)
[ ] ONLY WARN WHEN NAVIGATE OFF
[ ] ONLY SPEED WARNINGS OFF
[V] SHOW SPEED LIMIT (this one is ON)

Which one do you point to?

Think this is it. It's certainly ticked on our 2015 308.
Unfortunately, this is already on. See my post above. But I don't get to see any speed, not even on highways, not on provincial roads and not on village roads. Nothing ordinary. Isn't this installable somewhere separately or something like that?
I'm afraid these limits will only be visible at speed cameras or speed traps, wouldn't they?
Could you put a photo of your speed limiting traffic sign on the SMEG display?Just to check that you are on the same boat as me.

I have to keep repeating that this is not a speed limiter, it's simply a display of what the database ""says" the speed limit for the road is that I am talking about.

I won't be going out until later on or a photo and it'll have to be on a main road of course!

Yes i know it isnot a limiter. Its just the max speed what is shown on the display.
Is it right that it is only shown when you are driving on some bigger highways?
Thats very sad.

I have both Warn when Nav is off selected and show Speed Limit option selected - not all roads have speed limits visible as Paul states - very much depends on how the road has been rated and whether speed limits have been put into the database - when there is data - I see a small circle with the speed limit on the SAT NAV display screen (this is my standard default screen) - SMEG+ 2015 308.

This is the speed limit indicator on our 308. Only on major roads though.

A few miles along the Autoroute this hazard warning popped up. It's actually warning of an upcoming section where the speed limit is reduced from 130 Km/h to 110 Km/h rather than a speed camera.

Hope this helps in some way.

Hi according to my information the M49RG20-Q0421-2001.ZIP file contains data processed in Q4/ 2021. Supposedly it takes a year to process everything so that's why the 2022 - 2023 release. H..re is crazy slow. For example, in the NAC system where the Tom Tom maps are, there is a street that is not in M49RG20-Q0421-2001.ZIP. That same Naviextras maps are more up to date, wich use by on Mazda. According to the announcement there may be an update towards the end of the year, maybe. I don't have much faith in that. Why would they invest in an old system. One more note: the Peueot 308 with SMEG have a USB2 slot in the glove box, this plugged USB blocked my update. After entering the key, it wrote a message: that I should check the maps or key. And the update could not start.

It is fairly well known that if you have two USB sockets then you should use the one in the centre console for updates - in fact the installation document references this. It's also important that a second socket should be empty during updates, as should the CD player if there is one fitted.

If the update procedure is not used frequently , this information is forgotten. The USB2 slot information was just a reminder :)

I don't recognise the firmware number but yes to the other two. The most recent maps were issued in October last year (and September the year previously) so maybe a new update is in the offing.

I have a link for July speedcams (thanks to Mytheuzen at GPS power) but unfortunately, although I've downloaded it, I'm in hospital (again!) and can't test it. It appears to be up to date though. Checking ZAR_POI.BIN.inf in the DATA > BASE1 folder confirms VERSION:20230703.

If someone could try it out and confirm I'll get the first post updated.
