I could have sworn that there was a post here from someone asking if the map files could be used for an eMyway system.

FWIW it can as I am in the process of now updating my 2014 C5. The trick is to point to the CC.DAT.inf in the root, not in any of the folders.

If you have exactly the same activation key from Citroen and the key generator then we have to assume that it's correct. Which really only leaves inputting the code as the problem. You haven't been putting the letters in using lower case have you? They need to be upper case.

Are you sure that the USB pen drive was completely empty before putting the data folders and files on to it? For instance, if it has been plugged into an Apple machine there will be many hidden files and folders hidden on it.

Does this file need to treated any differently from the "normal" one? I.E. does it just need unzipping and then a code generated in the same manner?

OK, answered my own question. It unzipped to the same number of folders and files.

And I wonder whether this early release is to especially accommodate the national speed limit reduction from 90km/h to 80km/h in France?

Answered another of my own questions - the speed limits (where shown) remain at 90km/h. I updated yesterday whilst driving through France.

On another matter, I had more a faff to update than previously. I had to delete a stored map every time before being able to proceed with the update. I have previously discovered that I can't update all the maps in one go, I have to choose about half and then do the remaining half on a second pass. Yesterday was much more difficult and it too quite a few sweeps to encourage the updating.

One thing that occurs to me is the size of the pen drive. I have been using an 8GB drive and about 6.9GB is used. I wonder whether there is not enough space for temporary files and I need to move to a 16GB pen drive?

Yes Paul, with the 2018-2 maps when extracted (From 5.2GB ZIP) to the pen drive to 9GB. so luckly the pen that what was brought in for me was 16GB.
Now that is curious and prompted me to check my figures.

I don't have the original zip files as I deleted them after extraction but the latest zip expanded to 5,368,847,170 bytes. I then checked the two previous map updates and the 2018-1 - GR415 is 5,259,934,428 bytes and the 2017-2 - GR414 is 5,116,633,448 bytes - all around the 5GB mark. I really don't understand where your 9GB comes from.

I made mention f6.9GB earlier on. This was a figure that was on one of the information screens when updating. In retrospect I don't know what that refers to.

I also ended up being unable to update one of the maps even after deleting a database. Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't have any saved destinations so that doesn't worry me.

As an exercise I downloaded the 42006.zip file again. It's 5,340,853,479 bytes in size. That unzips to 5,368,847,170 bytes - exactly as I said before. And this is same size as when transferred to the USB stick.

The problem with deleting databases on the car is that you appear to only be to delete one country at a time - and then only if the system decodes that there isn't enough space and offers you the option to delete a database. After then tapping on a country it then deletes it and instead of then going on to install all the countries for you, you have to start the procedure again.

When you get to point of choosing which countries to update if you choose all it will still say that there isn't enough room and you get the offer to delete a country again. If, however, at that point you leave one country un-updated then it will (probably) go through. I suspect that if you could delete ALL countries that you could update all countries as well. But as it would be a faff to delete each country one at a time I haven't tried that yet.

Does anyone know a way to delete all countries at once?

If your maps updated with the code generated then it is correct. Pointing the code generator at the wrong folder will generate a code that doesn't work.

As a matter of interest, what year and model is your car?

I just use Windows' built-in zip extractor. Right click on the zip file and then choose Extract All... does it for me.

Are you using a Windows machine?

Well I followed the link again and downloaded the file. It was a bit of a faff though I have to admit and there was a particularly nasty window that just didn't want to be closed to overcome.

I wanted to upload the file here but they don't accept RAR files so what I did was to pop it inside a ZIP file. This means you'll have to extract twice but, hey, the hard work has already been done!

All being well when I click submit reply all will become apparent.

LATER EDIT 19/10/2018

I have also attached another ZIP file called Generator for RT6 etc.zip, this simply has the single Java file for generating the code. No need to unpack a RAR as well. I've left the other file attached for those who like a (slight) challenge!
