Does anyone have any instructions on how to replace the alternator on a 308 1.6 turbo petrol engine? Tried looking around for videos but found mostly hdi videos which is a bit different. Specifically needs instructions on how to loosen the tension bar for the alternator belt but complete instructions would be great. Is it only to apply a load of torque on this bolt so that the spring lock can be set?

It helps if you provide the Engine Designation Code from position 6,7,8 of the VIN.

The printout is a match for removing the alternator.
The printout is a match for removing the alternator.
It has a spring-loaded pin on it.
You turn the bar with a spanner until you can push the pin in. That way it's locked in the tension released position.
The first minute of the following video explains:

You just need to be careful when it comes time to remove the whole tensioner arm (the upper mount bolts for the alternator are the tensioner arm bolts) that you don't accidentally release that spring-loaded pin. It will bite you.
