Doors locking automatically?

Morning all...I still cant fathom this out but I can now tell you definitively what happens:-
1) Use remote to lock car- all (including folding mirrors) works normally!
2) Use remote to unlock -again all operates as expected.
3) Do not open door - 30 seconds later all relocks as per handbook (although it didnt do this before the BSI wipe out in May, see other posts)
4) Open door (drivers or front passenger) and all other doors lock. Whichever door is opened remains unlocked and the others remain locked until remote or interior lock is operated

I've looked all through the menus in planet and cant see anything remotely (see what I did there) that might provide a solution. Clearly it must be something that can be changed since it didnt happen BW (before wipeout) It almost seems like some sort of anti-hijack measure - but when a door is opened??? I'd be very grateful for any suggestions, hints, clues. Like I said before you folks out there helped me get this car started after 10 weeks in a garage where they could not so surely we can sort this. Thanks again in anticipation

Wow ! Reading through that description just fried my brain ! Must be getting too old for this
Is the BSI configured correctly? I.e. is the type of locking fitted configuration correct and is it configured as right hand drive? Also is it configured as mercosour ( not sure on the spelling there ). If it is then this can cause locking problems.

Hi wynb I've seriously considered a bsi reset but I'm a bit worried that it might default to how it was after I reprogrammed it and then step by step reconfigured it ( ie changing things like driving on left to right, DPF fitted etc) do you think the bsi should retain all the changes I made after the reprogram? I seem to recall that after I got it started again I did a reset and everything had gone and I had to start again...does the bsi have a battery of its own? thanks again

I tried locking/unlocking with drivers door open.....no change. re drivers door microswitch, the response is the same if front passenger door is opened too.....I'll summon up the nerve to do a bsi reset and keep my fingers crossed that a) it fixes it and b) it doesnt revert back to how it was .....in fact I'll go and try it now!

Defeated? :(

Seems like my auto locking doors problem has defeated the collected resource that is this forum. Very strange isnt it? I am the only person ever to have had this...I've tried each and every suggestion (and thanks again to those who did suggest) to no avail. It's mad isnt it.... this forum enabled me, with no experience of any diagnostics whatsoever, to start a car that had been in a garage for 10 weeks,......yet there appears to be no answer to this last irritating problem.....ah well anybody want to buy a 2004 807 2.2Hdi executive wuth new alternator and cam belt......and a planet kit?

Done a little research, central locking is activated on either front door with a twist of the key. Clearly when you open the door the BSI is getting a signal from the lock microswitch that the door is open but instead (or as well) of switching on the interior lamps the central locking is activated. I guess the battery disconnection has got it confused. Couple of things worth trying:
Shut the doors and switch the central locking on and off say 10 times with the key finally locking it then leave it for say and hour and see any improvement.
Didn't work? Next idea, open the door and manually close the lock hook fully (2 clicks) with a screwdriver on the side of the door (leaving it open) and start the engine. With the engine running unlock the door by operating one of the handles, if CL doesn't activate shut the door and switch off engine. Get out, lock it and leave for an hour and give it a try.

Cheers wynb I'll try both of those tomorrow and let you know. It's annoying but not the end of the world...I'm using the car all the time now unless I have a tour to do (Barra Island Tours - Home) just to keep it in use and show any prospective buyers on the island that it's fine. I really like it, much higher standard of trim than my new C4 Grand P, more toys and much roomier for me and passengers......pity it's fuel consumption wasnt like the C4 (and excise licence wasnt ÂŁ0)

Sorry I'm stuck to know what to do. I thought about disconnecting the door lock connector but this could well make matters worse because the BSI uses the signal from the door opening and closing to trigger quite a few things, you can hear the relays chattering away when the door closes.
Only suggestion is a BSI reset but I can understand why you aren't keen to try this....
