Can only connect to engine ECU in PP2000

Hello,

I recently got a Chinese Lexia3 clone in order to activate the cd changer in my Peugeot 206. The problem is that I can only connect to the engine ECU with PP2000. If I try to connect to any other ECU the program gives a message "The ECU has not replied" after a few minutes.

I have tried two different versions of PP2000 and ignition/engine turned on. The Lexia3 interface seems to be able to connect to the car as the engine ECU shows correct information and is able to read engine fault codes.

The car is a Peugeot 206, 1.6 16v 2004 model and the Lexia3 firmware seems to be 4.2.2 according to PSA interface checker program. I'm out of ideas on how to get the other ECUs (mainly the BSI) working with PP2000 so any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Thank you for the replies. Unfortunately the BSI reboot didn't seem to help. The Lexia3 interface is also reported as rev C by the PSA interface checker program.

I was running Windows XP in VirtualBox but made a new clean XP install. PP2000 runs a lot faster now so I was able to complete a global ECU scan without the car going to economy mode. In addition to the engine ECU the program is able to read ABS and airbag ECUs, but everything else still reports "the ECU has not replied".

Also isn't PP2000 supposed to automatically read the car VIN number after entering the 4-5 digit car build code? The program performs "a vehicle identification" after entering the build code but after a minute or two it just jumps to the next screen without adding the VIN number under the build code on the left side of the program window.

Vehicle Id by VIN does not work with clones as program has no access to PSA server to get vehicle details.

Rebooting BSI will not wipe faults in most cases engine ecu will clear codes after three to five journeys if fault does not re occur

Do you have original radio still fitted

Thank you for the information, good thing to know that clone interfaces can't do vehicle identification by VIN. :)

Yes I still have the original Clarion RD3-01 radio fitted to the car. I also don't seem to have any other BSI related issues (malfuntions with electric windows, remote/central locking, radio etc.) except that I can't connect to the BSI in PP2000.

In manual model selection make sure you select VAN not CAN if an option as that age vehicle should be VAN

The options for Peugeot 206 in PP2000 manual model selection are 206, 206 MUX and 206+. According to the software a car with a build code 9076 or above is a MUX. The build code in my 206 is 10080 so I have been using the MUX option.

I also tried the non-mux 206 and 206+ options but they didn't seem to be able to scan the BSI either.

I'm facing the same problem. I've bought an chinese lexia clone, apparently full chip, and in the Peugeot 206 it only reads the engine ECU with PP2000. The 206 is an 2004 model and the build code is 10057. The Lexia3 interface is also reported as rev C by the PSA interface checker program. I know this is an old thread, but maybe there is something new by now.

I just made some discoveries with the 206 MUX I have been looking at. The diagnostic connector has three VAN connections to the engine ECU (K and L lines), ABS (K line only) and BSI (K line only). I disconnected the CAN bus by unplugging the ABS and PP2000 was still able to see all the ECUs (except the ABS of course). This must mean PP2000 uses the seperate VAN connection to read the BSI.

I have attached a wiring diagram for the diagnostics and you will see there is a VAN bus line from pin 11 of the OBD connector to the BSI. Could you have a problem with that connection?

If PP2000 can't connect to the BSI it will not be able to see the other ECUs except for the ABS and engine ECU. Does your car have an ABS? My memory is that here in Australia they only imported 206s without ABS except for the GTi version. It put me off buying one at the time.

I added the CD changer to our 2003 (53) 206cc (MUX) a few years ago with no issues, the only problem, as a new user, was a bit of reading on here to find the DAM code. I am sure we use V7.49.or V7.53. I need to connect to it soon as it is having its first MOT in almost 3 years next week so I will know what version it is. The cable came off either eBay or Amazon quite some time back.
