Hi, Today I changed my bpga 3008 2017. Man oh man, what a struggle I had to remove the cover. The bpga is connected to the metal plate with 2 screws on the back. I had to demolish the plastic cover because it did not come lose. Finally after removing more plastic from the cover I saw an extra screw at the bottom Op the metal plate. This screw caused so much trouble and I did my research but did not anyone mention this 3rd screw. Because I misformed the metal plate I could not get the cover of my new bpga closed at the position of the 3rd screw. I tried everything and normally I don't give up but at the end I decided 2 screws is enough to keep it tight. I started the engine and the fault was still there. I thought maybe it needs a reset of the faults. I had this feeling I forgot something. I began to Google for anything about that 3rd screw and I saw the brown connector. And I knew immediately I forgot to connect it. Connected the brown connector, started the engine. True Magic, the fault was gone, yippie yahee :) If anyone can show a link to information about the 3rd screw, please let me know!

I replaced mine as well. Same 3008 2017 owner as well🤝

About taking out the covers. I have some notes to share
1. To take out and remove the plastic cover, the whole thing (2 screws at the bottom) and the metal bracket (2 at the back, 1 at the front under the lower plastic slide, hiding in a deep metal cave) must be unscrew first

REMARKS: The lower 2+1 screws all concealed by a small flat plastic/rubber cover, which has an unknown cable across BPGA module. You got to unclip that and take that out first.

2. To unscrew the lower plastic cover screw, you would find that
it is impossible if let it sit in place as everything is blocking you;
but it is also impossible to lift it and unscrew it, as all cables there are terribly short.

The real solution is here:
There are 2 plastic pieces on the front of the plastic cover can SLIDE!

At least one of them is connected.
Disconnect that wire on the left and also the brown plug (has a sliding trigger and a clip on the back side) first,
then you would be able the lift the whole module up and unscrew the cover, also make you easier to transfer all the cables
(but again, it's still far from easy as all the cables are terribly shortly SHORT)

P.S. so in reverse, when you put it back, screw this first. Then put it back and connect the 2 cables on the left 🫠

One more thing, I changed my bpga from model -380 to -880, and found that at the back side, the lowest one of -380 is 30, and the one of 880 replacement is 40.

I don't know it correct or not but I transferred my 30 from old to replacement in place.

I also have B1624 73: Central power switch positive relay status fault: Relay closed.

The only noticeable symptom is the radiator fan coming on unnecessarily and staying on until I switch off the ignition.

Has anyone managed to replace just the relay on the BPGA?

I've just received a used replacement BPGA and discovered that the underside of the unit has a removable cover. After removing the cover I found there's another bank of fuses inside.

Are these 'live' fuses, or just place holders and spare fuses?

You need to connect both sides. The current one on your car should be like that as well

Depends on the BPGA you bought, several fuses number might be different from your current board on the underside. If you see that, transfer the fuse as well

Thanks wtuk. Swapped over the part and the electrical fault disappeared.

For anyone else needing to replace the BPGA I would add these tips:

First, take photos of both sides of your original BPGA, with all fuses and wires still connected. You'll need to check and compare the photos later.

My replacement BPGA also had fuse terminal posts missing, these can easily be swapped over, just as easy as swapping any fuse. So you can pretty much ignore the model numbers and buy the cheapest BPGA, as long as the shape is the same. The slightly different model numbers seem to relate to different default fuse configurations.

I bought mine 'used' from Aliexpress for just £82.31 (cheap but still an expensive way to replace a relay):

Subtotal £78.59
Shipping Free shipping
AliExpress Coupons -£10.00
Tax £13.72
Total £82.31

You can often find coupon codes on the Aliexpress main page.

If you have a TopCashback account you can usually get at least 5% (though Black Friday month it seems to be hovering between 11% and 14%). Most times Aliexpress doesn't track and you need to raise a claim.

Although it was used, it was in much better condition than my 2016 one, and far cheaper than any used on eBay at the time. This is the actual item that arrived:

The seller sells both new and used, so I'm guessing he also sells them within China on an exchange basis, then repairs and resells them too.

I found a small area which had been covered with black silicone so I assume the relay is under here:

You can find it by searching for the listing number 1005008028658986. But still, shop around. Each listing contains several different model numbers, so you can open a new browser tab and search for each of these model numbers too until you find the cheapest - as long as the shape is the same.

Strangely enough, for months I'd been having an issue with the DPF continually blocking (Euro6 engine) then having to manually unblock it with DPF spray cleaner. This even happened during long journeys. I needed to do the spraying again, however, after I swapped over the BPGA the DPF error stopped popping up.

Sharing my thought as well,
I bought myself a brand new OEM from new bros instead
I do not want to buy a used one as I want to avoid to do the whole thing again because the replacement one can be also faulty when arrived lol

But true that Aliexpress has the lowest price among all sources.

So everyone needed this can think about the pros and cons to choose your way to source it.

Hello everyone. Please tell me about the BPGA block. I have it 1 in 1 as in the photos above. The original number is 9820081780. This is a 2019 Opel grandland x. He is a member of the PSA Group. But with this number, I can't find a spare part. There is also a JL06 number on the BPGA block. In our used spare parts markets, there are units with other OEM numbers, as well as units JL01, JL11, JL09. What is the probability that another block will suit me? Other units from Peugeot and Citroen. We don't have any spare parts for sale from Opel.

I can't say for sure as this is 3008 owner here
but some might also sell it as compatible JL-06 module like this site
If you are really frustrated and no other way to source yours, you may give it a try.
(If not maybe return it back if possible haha)

But beware different number might have different fuse layout (different fuse number inside).
You might need to buy extra fuse bits or transfer from the old one

Thank you, friend. If it's just the fuse box, I'd be glad. My father-in-law's car. He doesn't know much about it. He has already managed to change the battery. In fact, he removes the battery terminal when he is not driving) There is no such spare part in my city. I want to take it from Citroen and try to put it on. As soon as I solve the problem, I will try to give an answer! Hello from Belarus =)

Hello Belarus 😊 - I also found that website and if you click on a part - for example JL06 - and look down the page you can see diagnostic fault codes which might help.

Hello, friend! Thanks! Yes, that's right, I have a malfunction of the main advantage (the relay is closed). That's why the battery is running low =)
Have a nice day!

I am not sure it relates with your question. But I had a problem with the battery loosing power ans sometimes the car not even starting. I turned of the front fog lights on the plug I never got the drain battery anymore after that.
Hiya mate, could you please elaborate and explain in further detail when you mention 'I turned of the front fog lights ON THE PLUG' please? Had some success turning the fog lights on and off via the steering coloum headlight stick, but the fault came back after a couple of days.

Hi All I have electrical system fault flash up but only on the second start of the day, first start no issues. Stop the car start again and it flashes up? I had a new battery to try and sort it but the same message appears. When I drive it a few miles then stop the cat and start again it goes off!! Its driving me crazy as its either faulty or its not, but as it does it second start onwards I,m stumped any ideas? SS works fine with new battery no other issues I can see
Hi
I have the same problem. Can you help me, how you solved?

Hi

This discussion is focussed on BPGAs. In most cases if the BPGA fails the car will not start. Hence, I doubt your problem is BPGA related.

On later models Peugeot introduced two wiring standards (full architecture and economy) so some models don't have a BPGA.

A fault code should have been logged in one of the car's computers. I suspect the only way you will find the cause of your fault is to get a diagnostic done and see if there any stored fault codes.
