Peugeot uses its own proprietary software and obd2 cable
you will only get basic obd2 codes unless you have something pretty fancey

look on ebay for diagbox / pp2000 / lexia 3.... more money doesn't mean better quality
and the majority come with pirated software that will only run on windows xp or 7 x86 /32bit
(unless somebody chimes in with a better option below)

I have diagbox and Peugeot Planet 2000 software
I think pp2000 is the older version... but I feel its easier to find the options im looking for
both work on the same cable... im not sure what lexia 3 is (could be the name of the cable?)

airbag light can sometimes be an electric connector under the seats
or in the comms unit check the ribbon cables for damage

or blow a turbo

looks like you have a bad glow plug/s (not fun to change but wont stop the car from starting in england)
one of those codes looks like its pointing at an injector. that could cause the overboost. as can airintake / vaccum leaks or the egr valve

 

Thanks for your replies, I’ll check out the OBD suggestions.
There’s no rush to get the car going, it’s currently on our drive and sorn’d. So I want to spend a month or two getting it correct before I start to use it.

I’ve read this can be a sticking waste gate solenoid, is that a good place to start looking?

 

Just buy Fap app on amazon (some 12€) or in HdiTuning webshop. It gives you almost everything you need (except coding and adaptations and replaced parts initialisation, which you can only do with Lexia above...)

 

Can you give the engine designation code (positions 6,7,8 of the VIN number)

Its one of those things where you need to check everything
the pp2000 cable will give you more information
for example a generic obd2 wont pick up an egr fault code
it wont outright tell you what the problem is... but it should point you in the right direction
yea a sticking waste gate could be a thing... there are many youtube videos on how to test them
but the 1.6hdi I was just working on had a garret turbo that didn't have a waste gate.
im a diy guy in not familier with a 2.7. there are many other people here that actually know what they're talking about
im sure iv read a post recently where someone just adjusted the acutator to solve an overboost issue

When they don't have wastegate, it's because they are variable vanes, which achieve a similar effect without the use of wastegate, through the adjustment of the vanes.

Not that rare, there is lots of 120bluhdi 308. They all garret vvt.

 

oh 1 sec... the price of these have gone up allot and there's some weirdness..

some are saying they now work on windows 10/11 and the hardware (cable) is different.. i don't really trust that (other people may know better i got mine years ago) ill keep looking for you

The above AliExpress item says it needs to run on Win7 64 bit. I'm not sure if they're 64 bit enabled but I've just updated both of my old Win7 laptops to Windows 10 😩
I guess it'll be easy to uninstall it back to Win7 ?

So if I have a Win7, 64 bit laptop is all I then need to buy included in your link above?
For the proper set-up at just £35 it's not worth messing about with an ELM 327 dongle!

in my experience i only ever got it to run on windows xp and 7 32-bit. but its possible to run 32bit windows on top of a 64bit in a virtual machine.

if you look at videos about "virtual box" on youtube youl get the idea..

 

my "proper set-up" is a panasonic cf-52 laptop. i removed the cd drive and replaced it with a harddrive caddy. so there's now 2 quad boot hardrives

and there's one click drivers available for xp / 7 / 10 /11

so i have all windows installed and some linux lol but... im a nerd

No, I was trying to post a current AliExpress link for Lexia 3 cables to ask if they'd work with your notebook set-up, but it appears that for 2007 and onwards Pugs, Win7 and Diagbox is needed.

You use VM, don't need to worry about the OS on the laptop or computer.
