Hi folks, as you know I manage the Peugeot Planet owners map. But we're always looking for more people to go on to cover areas with gaps, or areas where people have sold up and moved to another make.

I've written a guide to buying, installing and using the Planet software, and how to make a little money from it. You can download it here.

Any feedback or comments welcome. I plan to expand the operations section later, as well as an install guide for Diagbox.

One thing which gets asked a lot is "where should I get the cable".

At time of writing this is a trusted source:

I have PP2000 upto 25.01 based in Halesowen in the West Midlands, although im not fully confident with it yet, the only things ive used it for is readding and clearing codes, programming keys, and configuring the steering angle sensor.

Im happy to provide the 25.01 update with the keygen for anyone who wants it, be sure to quote me though, otherwise I wont get any notifications and work away during the week so cant keep checking back here.

I'd appreciate if you'd hit me up with it, only managed to get v22 which is crashing every time I try to read anything.

If you use diagbox it will work fine on win7 or 10 as long as its 32 bit

Hi. Yes we did, but we couldn't get it to work, our car is still broken, and it doesn't look like garages are very interested in doing the work, looks like too big of a job and alot of money. :rolleyes:

That's a pain. Did you use Lexia3 and PP2000?
I'm in a similar position - I'm about (well I was) to buy the PP2000 gear, and was also having to get a Windows XP laptop, but thinking twice about it now. I'm worried it won't work on mine either.

You don't need an XP laptop I can give you a link to download a fully activate version of diagbox that you can run on a virtual machine on most laptops including 64 Bit Windows 10

Thanks windy, I'll give it a go, but I was put off doing that by reading a post where someone said that it wouldn't work 100%, ie, some faults wouldn't show. Have you used it personally?

Any way, like I said I'll give it a go. If it works (I won't have the stand alone PP on a dedicated XP to prove that it does mind you), maybe I'll be able to help Hayley out.

Yes I use it all the time on a windows 10 64bit laptop with no issues. It's also handy if like I had a laptop failure you do not have to go through the whole install and upgrade routine again you just copy the files onto another laptop and your good to go.

Only issue is it's a 4gb download or 16gb if you want service box & SEDRE as well

Ah, windy, thank for your help but just got home and checked our laptop (Windows 7) and it only has about 2g if RAM available - virtual XP will need about 8g of RAM to run properly, maybe just under. Plenty of disc space, but about 1/4 of required RAM.
A shame really because this laptop is receiving palliative care as it is and my better half needs a new one so I could clear this one, but not this month. There's only so much limp mode I can take, and.......MOT v soon, so it's bite the bullet time.

Thanks again. May I have that link off you just in case please?

I think that would kill this laptop.

My choices: Get the MOT guys to deal with it, which is unfortunate because I could probably deal with a lot of it myself;
Get the better half to quickly get a new laptop and use this one as a dedicated car laptop and maybe store my music on (got loads of FLAC/lossless albums and whole discographies), but she needs a good one so that probably will have to wait until next month;
Get a cheap laptop and use that as the dedicated car one (I'll then use this one as a dedicated music server).
It's an old '03 307 HDi 110, how much to spend(?). I don't even know if PP/Diagbox can even communicate with it. I think I want to persevere with it. You never know, I might get the gear together and put myself on the Peugeot Planet map and save others the pain.

Sorry for the ramble, and cheers.
