On my 308 its in the boot under the carpet on the right hand side next to the spare wheel. It is a big black cap just unscrew a quarter turn then under that is a small blue cap, just unscrew that and then you have access to the adblue. I use a funnel with long extension to fill mine as it can be abit awkward and saves any spills. Holds 17 litres in total, mine had the wiring changed for the adblue system on a recall early in the year as there isxa known fault that once the warning comes on it wouldn?t reset once the tank was topped up. Never happened to me but was done as a recall on a service along with other things.

I got the warning several days ago, too. I have 1200 km to go, but I have a couple of question:

1) Where exactly on the car do you fill it up from? I can't find it either on the car itself or in the manual. I read that the most common place, is below the trunk, but I can't find anything there. The Denon subwoofer takes most of the place, but there is one thing I can scroll off, but it doesn't say what's for. Wouldn't wan't to fill something up that's not supposed to be there.

2) How big exactly is the AdBlue tank on the car, if you have to fill it up to make the warning disappear?

Thanks!
I refilled at a truckstop, used a Adblue adapter it took 3 minuts, notice that the tank Can hold more than 17, liter, but Adblue needs headspace to expand in Winther time If freecing.
You have to remove subwoofer to get acces to the Adblue tank.

Surely you don't have to have warning light reset each refill?

Just put 10 litres of AdBlue in and the urea warning light hasn't gone out, does this mean it will go into limp mode when it reaches 0kms even though there's plenty in the tank? Oe would think justby refilling the tank resets things, a pain if you need to fork out whatever the charge is for clearing the alarm and a rip off! 2016 308 Allure btw.

Recording to manual it does NOT Go into limp mode. You cant start the engine.

It's all in the drivers' handbook, from page 279 in mine.

At the end, there is a warning. When topping up after running out of additive - you must wait for about 5 minutes before switching on the ignition, or opening a door, unlocking the vehicle etc. Then switch on the ignition and wait 10 seconds before starting.

So no, no need to reset via diagbox.

It also says if your adblue tank is empty, confirmed by the alert message and non stating engine, you must add at least 3.8 litres of adblue.

I think you also get a warning that the adblue is low well before it runs out and locks out.

Easy to do

Hi,

When my UREA light came on I had a look at what it meant. Most places said go to nearest Peugeot dealer to get a top up which I really cannot be bothered to do.

This really surprised me, as it was very easy to do.

I have a 65 plate 308. Popped into Halfords and got 10L for ÂŁ11 with a funnel included. The tank is in the boot by the spare wheel to the right. Popped the cap off, 10L of Adblue in the tank in less than 5 minutes.

Got back in the car, UREA light had gone.

ÂŁ11 and 10 mins max.

Can't remove 308sw adblue cap

I went to top up my adblue, turned the adblue cap 1/6 of a turn to open it (as described in the handbook) put it will not lift off. It turns to open and close position ok but just will not lift off, any ideas?

I have previously topped it up myself about 6 months ago without issue.

I struggled to get mine to come off as well, turns out when mine was in the full open position it was still locked!

Fully close it, then slowly rotate it open at the same time you gently lift it up (requires little force)

After that it continues to open as normal, no idea what was causing the lock! :thumb:

That worked a treat, thank you so much!

Hi i have posted previous on this subject of Adblue

I have gone through customer care with advise on a second opinion;

My car seems to be needed to be topped up around the 4k miles mark and been been told its probably down to driving conditions :(

quote: Thanks for your patience whilst this has been looked into.

I spoke with the service department of Arbury Walsall and they told me they couldn't diagnose any sort of leak or fault with the AdBlue system of your car.

They advised me AdBlue consumption is dependant on driving style and cited this as a possible reason for the AdBlue consumption rate of your car.

I do 20 motorway miles each day (not a lot i know) but it is motorway driving:
Just wondering if anyone else had same issues

Regards

I find that response lacking.

Yes, driving style will affect consumption of AdBlue but not to that extent. I believe that ideally the Adblue should last from one service to the next, i.e. 15,600 miles (for the 1.6 Blue HDi - don't know about any other HDis). I could see there being a 25% hit for press-on driving, maybe 50% for press-on driving an auto which would make a worst case scenario of 7800 miles. You seem to get 50% worse yet again.

Some more thoughts. Our car seems to need filling at about 13,000 - 14,000 miles so maybe 15,600 is unrealistic, After all most people don't do that mileage in a year and so would get their car serviced annually.

Also, how much AdBlue is being put into the tank when filled? The tank is 17l capacity so if only 10l is being put in then that will have a major impact on the range. FWIW, at a service they don't measure how much AdBlue is in a tank they just suck the whole lot out and then put a measured amount (17l?) in. If you run out in between I believe they only put 10l in.
