Did you (are you) pursuing this?

My father in law has the same issue. Frankly, it’s disgusting.

I’m considering taking Peugeot through the small claims court but would be good fun to find out how many people this has affected and take it up a notch and claim for cost of engine replacement plus stress etc etc (because it is) and the impact on wider family life.

any thoughts?
Repair completed by Peugeot Main Dealer and Peugeot Customer Services 27th September 24. It took 10+weeks and a lot of jumping through hoops. Cam Chain Repair kit miraculously became available after 3 weeks of placing the order. No charge whatsoever for me and warrantied for 12 months. (19plate 1.5 HDi Automatic 37.5k miles.) PCS and Dealership provided courtesy car - Just need some patience and not to get too stressed. Look back through my posts to get more info.
:)

Hi - is anyone aware of a fault with the timing chain? I have a 2018 plate 3008 1.5 hdi with 65K miles on the clock. My timing chain has broken and killed my engine to the extent that the garage a suggesting a new engine due to the extent of the damage. I have only owned the car 11 months. The car has a warranty on it and I'm praying it covers the repairs, but due to the age of the car, I'm curious as to whether there is a manufacturing fault?

Well, I was very lucky then ( 3008, Aug 19, 1.5HDI, 8 speed auto tranny, 130,000 KM. Went from Spain to France and back. The following day when cranking the engine I noticed a weird noise and took it to the dealer in Valencia. They replaced the old chain and other parts at no cost to me.

My wife’s 3008 1.5 Blue HdI engine capitulated in February. 69 plate and 66,000 miles on the clock, Peugeot very aware of the issue but are only offering us 50% goodwill towards a full engine repair of £9k. Peugeot customer care less than helpful in assisting and just keep stating 50% is based on an “incomplete service history” on account of having some services done at local garages and not main dealerships. I’m refusing to back down and will fight them on this as they know the issue exists but are are not giving owners the opportunity to get ahead of the problem and save themselves £1000’s of damage repair. The UK Motor Omsbudsman have accepted our case but could be up to 6 months before the case is looked at, Anyone else had dealings with Peugeot customer care that would be willing to share/combine/discuss?
Hi yes same issue with Peugeot 2021 registration. 4 months out of warranty. Peugeot Customer Care.
Not helpful at all.
Timing chain snapped 88k milage. Full service history. Late service between 1st & 2nd service. Where the timming chain won't even be checked. Not contributing anything. Because of the gap in service which is over by 1600 miles. They know there is an issue. Mentioned about the ombudsman. All the investigation costs plus engine rebuild is over ÂŁ6500. I don't know where to go from here?

Any advise would be welcome.
