I don't think anyone on here will be able to give you a definite answer, it seems that some can do it and some can't. It may be to do with the spec of the car, ECU, or a number of things.

If CC is going to be that important to you, I'd maybe just look for one that already has it installed although zooloo66 has managed it on a 307 1.4 lx hdi 2003 so it is very likely that it would work, it just depends if you're willing to take a chance? :shrug2:

Maybe zooloo66 can give you some more info?

Many thanks. Seems like there's no easy answer.

I've never bought French before and am used to VAG cars (I fitted cruise to my Passat tdi and Audi A2 tdi) where, with a typically efficient Teutonic rules-based approach, all cars follow the same rules and can be retro-fitted. (I hope this isn't a crude racial stereotype - it probably is but at least it's a positive one!)

Retrofit Cruise Control??????

Hi,
Posted this on 308 forum but not getting much help,

Got my pug 308 had for about 4 weeks now, regarding cruise control cant believe nobody else has tried it since everybodys doing it to there 206,207,307,407s anyway quick question are 308 ECU'S locked as I now have my stalk in 6242Z9 cruise without speed limiter and when peugeot planet is plugged in I can get to BSI configuration which shows without cruise or speed limiter - when I change it to cruise without speed limiter it shows up but wont let me save it upon exit

Hi,
Thanks for the reply
Its only my second day with PP so not quite sure how it all works yet, I change to with cruise but without limiter then press ok bottom right and then it shows up ok then i press configure i think and it says trying to contact ECU counts down from 10 secs to zero do you wish to try again,
this is the setting in the BSI section, where is the other change that has to be made cant find it again saw it last night says something like cruise present on display or something to that effect

Just spent the last 40 minutes trying again, both in ecu (global test) and bsi peugeot have blocked changes as it says when you press configure ecu secure configeration failed, now my question is before my new stalk goes up on ebay as im using PP china import could an actual peugeot dealer switch it on or do you reckon its just game over for me.
Thanks again.

Hiya folks, new to the forum and Peugeots so please bear with me... I've read the first few pages of this thread but not all 19 of them. I think I'm there but just need to confirm this is correct.

I need the following:
-Cruise control stalk
-Peugeot Planet diagnostic cable (seem to be about ÂŁ95 on eBay?)
-Copy of Peugeot Planet and updates
-Laptop or PC that can reach the car

Then basically follow the guide, kindly provided by the chap on here:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/marc.z/index.html/Peugeot Files/Peugeot 207 cruise control Retrofit.ppt

What's the deal with Peugeot Planet? Is it freeware? Is there a guide on here or is my searching leet? For a one-off, is it worth getting a dealer to reprogram the ECU, because there is a Pug dealer about 5 minutes away from here.

Hi,
When you buy lexia 3 peugeot interface from ebay you will get both the peugeot and citroen software with it.
The stalk will take about 5 minutes to install.
No dealer will configure ECU for you but its easy well on a 308 it is not sure what model you have but should be straight forward - good luck

I've just found this thread after posting a question about the topic in the General section.

I've read through quite a few of the 19 pages and even understand some of it.

I'm happy to wield spanners and hammers and am even happy to trace and solve general electrical faults but not so confident with computer controlled stuff.

I have what is basically an 08 plate Partner LX800 66Kw 1560cc diesel which has been converted into a camper-van and because of the long motorway journeys would really benefit from CC.

Firstly can you experts say whether retro-fitting the stalk to this vehicle is likely to work?

And; if so:

If I buy a stalk (the 6242 Z9) for just cruise, not speed limit, is there somebody round my area who would be willing and able to programme the cars CPU for me?

I'm just north of Birmingham, near Lichfield and would be willing to pay for the service rather than line the pockets of the big dealers.

P.S. the link to the homepage.ntlworld a couple of posts up does not work. I tried copying and pasting the link but it says that the page has been removed.

Thanks.
Dave.:)

Well, I got my Stalk (With Limiter) fitted it to car, configured ECU and BSI (took a little digging around to find out where) and I now have Cruise Control Yey!!!!!!

The limiter does not seem to work however, When I select the limiter it beeps at me 3 times, the lcd shows "Lin" and the number "19" for a slight second then the number goes off, am I missing something? is this an error code of some kind.

I noticed when configuring with PP that there was a Series A and a series B, could this be the issue as I selected cruise with limiter.

Thanks

Nelix

I have a '55 plate bog std 407SW and corresponding std instrument panel and there is no indicator light provision for cruise control on it. I fitted a different comm unit for other annoying electrical issues (steering wheel angle sensor) and this had cruise control already on...I left it attached and cruise control DID NOT APPEAR. Shame. I intend to remove the stalk itself as it is doing nothing and sell it on @ fleabay. So m3mpower may be acting on insufficient empirical evidence.

Hi, you did not enable / activate cruise control and that's why it wouldn't work, if you enable it, it will work, 100%, and it will display on your instrument panel.
My 307 didn't have cruise control, and now,it does and works perfect

Honestly, I did activate it with planet but no success. Now it shows lots of 'short circuit' faults on the cc stalk.
Interesting to see you dash display tho. Mine is not like that but i didnt expect the cc to show up in the milometer section...I thought it would be in the middle bank of lights.

Will take some shots and show you the issues guys.

OK so now you know that m3mpower is not acting on insufficient empirical evidence...
If you do the job correctly there is no reason why it wouldn't work, especially on a 407
