Hi I have a 2016 peugeot boxer 2.2 hdi 335 professional, it's on 164000 miles now. Recently had an issue with starting the van doesn't matter if its hot or cold out, if it's been running or not. I've replaced the starter motor and battery as starter was burnt out. And I just uprated the battery while I was there. It will crank every time just won't fire. But will fire every time with a boost pack on it. I work in plant machinery so I've tried multiple batteries, drop tests, battery tests, replaced leads, cleaned and treated terminals, nothing seems to help. The voltage drop is to about 10.6v during cranking. So it's not pulling down too low. I have thought about crank sensor maybe not seeing what it should for start up. Any ideas are welcome as it's becoming tiring now. Thanks

Have someone help you in the next thing. Remove one of the fuel lines that goes to your injector and have your friend crank the engine. See if the fuel line squirts. Or when it squirts. Right from the beginning...or close to the moment when it wants to start.

If it squirts right from the beginning all the time regardless how much you crank, then it cant be sensor issue. If it doesnt squirt at all, then you can move to the next step.

New update. Its now got EML randomly coming on, hill assist an esp unavailable at random not together with EML light, and goes into limp mode. Resetting key will clear all for temp fix. Fuel consumption has probably more than doubled and it smokes like a trooper. Any clues as I'm about to drop an excavator bucket on it I've had enough.

No battery tests, cable tests or anything seem to make any difference I have the snap on solus legend system myself for work I've ran diagnostic ls on it and it comes up with nothing till EML comes on then P0234 comes up. I've replaced boost solenoid and pressure sensor still no joy. Clears with reader and still intermittent, sometimes 10 times in 2 mins sometimes not for hours. I've tested cables and plugs all test ok I really don't know what else to say unless it's a poor injector, that's the next thing to replace logically, maybe overfeeding as doesn't know what mix it's actually got due to a faulty nozzle or something?

I think the CCV may be in play here, check how much oil is in the intake walls, if you find some, I think it has pooled in the intercooler or might have restricted flow.

This is summary, just make sure we are same page, so-to-speak,
P0234 is Engine overboost.
Possible components involved are (which, from reading your posts, appears you have tried swapping to new and tested wiring)
(1) Variable nozzle turbine motor
(2) MAP sensor

Can I get the engine designation code, positions 6,7,8 of the VIN. Just want to see what I can find out about the engine and be sure it matches.
