Hi all I'm a new member and I'm wanting some advice,I currently have a Peugeot 206 1.1 and I want to fit a 1600cc 8 valve engine but I don't know if it would be a straight swap or not just want to know if I would need any extra parts like injectors off the 1.6 engine or would it run ok on my 1.1 injectors also what about my ECU do I have to get one off a 1.6 also will I have to doing anything to the wiring loom and will I have to change the gearbox thanks

The earlier 206 was offered with a 8 valve TU5 engine ( XS & GLX trim levels IIRC ) - its wasn't that great plus drank fuel.

Its not a cost effective engine swop now, 206s are dirt cheap to buy - just buy one that came from the factory with the engine you want.

Insurance will be higher for a modified 206 especially if your younger.

As above its not a cost effective swap you will need engine with all of the injection components, engine ecu and engine wiring harness at a minimum.

You would also most likely need the gearbox (due to higher ratio's needed with extra power) which may also require different drive shafts and hubs etc.

Also the brakes may need to be upgraded to a similar spec to the 1.6
