P0087 code - Proper diagnostics in Essex?

I put my foot down in 4th gear and above my 2011 Peugeot 508 throws the check engine light and the cold start crank is way too long. Changed the fuel filter and fuel pressure sensor already but no difference. New battery just fitted as well. Been to 2 different garages who can't diagnose the issue properly. My scan tool shows P0087 error so my research suggests either the fuel filter housing leaks air or the high pressure fuel pump is gone but I need to be sure before just throwing money at it as the pump cost a small fortune and I was told the belt has to come out. Toomey Basildon couldn't be bothered to pick up their phones 2 days in a row now so can you recommend anybody in Essex with a proper Peugeot disagostics tool and some knowledge of the 2l HDI diesel?

Solinoid is fitted to the pump body which is mounted on the gearbox end of the head on the camshaft.

I would try and get some live data when driving as it's more likely to be a failing injector sticking and dropping the fuel pressure if it starts and runs fine most of the time.

If you have a smart phone or tablet the FAP app and a cheap Bluetooth OBDII interface should allow you to log or view injector correction and fuel pressure

The car runs fine unless you push it hard but the cold start long crank is more concerning to me as it's getting worse.
I'll test them with the OBD2 as Ive got an old Bluetooth one somewhere at home. Meanwhile that solenoid, do I just inplig it and touch the pins with the multimeter to see the readings?

I got the same code and problems (2,2 hdi), and the reason was that I used other than OE Purflux fuel filter and the white fuel line got air from the connection point. I believe that the pipe in the filter was somehow crap, because it could not fit "well". I know the filter is different, but maybe you should double check those filter connections first, since it's the cheapest solution?

I've put a new Mann filter in but didn't .ake a difference. Did you have to replace the fuel line and connector?

To test power to solinoid you need a scope to 100% as its a PWM signal which changes duty cycle on solinoid to adjust fuel pressure.

A meter on AC may see a difference in voltage you could try something like a 5-9 volt supply to see if it moves 12v may damage it if connected for too long

Based on max and min recorded under the live data for injectors it looks like 2 and 4 have at some point slightly longer injection times

This could be caused by a drop in fuel pressure from the lazy/sticking injector which fired before 2 and 4 which I think is injector 3

If you can (not sure if option is available on lite version) I would turn on logging and drive the car to try and trigger the fault and then look at the log.

The other option is a leak off test on a cold engine as that may show one injector passing excess fuel

If possible you full load acceleration to hit max fuel pressure which is around 1300 bar which may then identify the injector

Here is a screenshot full throttle and I've attached the log file as well. Look at the 19:48h log that's when I triggered the check engine light just now. Just remove the PDF extension as it wouldn't allow me to opload csv.

Injector 3 value still looks a bit suspect. Do you have the other log file not just the min/max values as that is easier to see any any sudden change in values to help diagnose.

I would look at a leak off test before changing any major parts like pump or regulator just to be 100% the injectors are OK as with the cold start issue I am 95% its injector related

There is only a single line of data in the file. did you tick the box etc to log every (i think default is 5 but I change to 1) and then drive it etc .

It maybe Lite version does not allow full logging
