Hi All, I've been reading almost everything I can, watching YouTube vids, etc, in preparation for installing PP2000. I have an old laptop which will be exclusively used for PP2000 which I just wiped clean and installed XP Pro onto. I have nothing else installed on this laptop, Windows updates & Firewall & Virus protection have all been turned off because I won't be connecting to the internet.
This is the Chinese eBay software & cables I just bought -
PP2000 Lexia 3 Diagnostic Interface Scan Tool 5 Cables FOR Peugeot Citroen | eBay

In saying that I've read heaps, it's still a bit confusing because some tutorials show Virtual Box and upgrading the PP2000 version, some are using Diagbox, some not....

For the setup above, when I load the Chinese DVD, will it still ask for activation, Key Gen, etc.
And if I'm running whichever version of PP2000 that comes on the disk (it says DiagBox V 7.65), do I actually need to use Diag Box?
Still a bit confused even after reading this entire thread! I want to be prepared so that when it arrives from China (any day now) and I chuck the install DVD into the drive, I can get it installed without downloading or installing parts of the software I don't need.
Please point me in the right direction.... :thumb:

My car is a 2007 Peugeot 407 V6 2.7 HDi
I can PM or email any members the VIN if that's required to get the correct KeyGen and all the other numbers the PP2000 setup asks for when loading for the first time.

Your car has nothing to do with the key gen - the key generator is a little bit of software which allows you to activate and use PP2000.

When installing the software, ensure you follow the instructions to the letter.

Diagbox is updated software for newer cars. It also contains a cut-down version of Planet for older cars. You cannot install both the full Planet AND Diagbox on the same system (I think, if you were running XP as a virtual machine, you could install both software in separate VMs.)

My car is 1995, and I use Planet. I would install Planet first, and if all is well, do not bother with Diagbox. If it does not recognise your car, I guess you should uninstall Planet and install Diagbox.

EDIT: Typo - it's 2005, not 1995.

I'm happy to do that but from what I've read, the instructions coming from China aren't very good - we shall see.
One bloke got instructions only in Russian

Edit: just found the instructions Gibbo posted on page 14, post #135 in this thread. Question: when you put all the details in the key generator box and hit "get code" to generate an activation code, do you have to be connected to he Internet? Or is the code generated within the software?

OK, good to know. So hopefully with a 2007 model I'll just be using Planet. It should all be arriving next week, if I'm having trouble I'll be back for more advice.....

Just installed PP2000 V22 on the laptop, got it all working despite the mine field of files and folders on the 2 disks I got from Chinese seller....
Plugged it in to the vehicle and had a play, recognised my car's VIN and everything seemed to work OK.
I'm trying to configure 'New Vehicle Preparation' but got stuck on the last data entry - RPO #. I've read the previous posts in this thread but it's not very clear.... Planet says "enter the first 5 digits of the APV-PR number"? The sticker on my driver's A pillar has these numbers from top to bottom -
11139CJ
20437
KDAC**
12900437

Are any of these the RPO number?

Also, I tried to change some vehicle parameters in Planet but couldn't find where you change the digital speed/mileage from Kilometers to miles or vice versa? I have unplugged my RT4 at the moment because it's getting repaired, but one of the strange things that happened after unplugging it was that the digital display changed to miles (I'm in Australia, we use K's). The top menu choice in PP2000 is "ECU configuration and services". I would have thought this would be where but when you click on it, you can only test the ECU - Global test, Test by ECU & Test by function.
Am I missing some functionality? I have only installed PP2000 not any of the Diagbox upgrades. Will these give more functionality or is PP2000 it?

Edit: I just found a file on the disk 'PP2000 update V24.99' and loaded it. Seemed to update the existing version I had loaded before.... doesn't look any different on the laptop, time to plug it in to the car and check it out....

And now it's my turn for the fun! I've got a diagbox thing (chinese/hardware), got the software and giving it a go to install. The kit comes with full instructions but I've got stuck with the activation. BTW: the hardware is not plugged in.

I've got a XP laptop (not connected to internet or LAN), run the install for v7.01 which seems to have loaded the program OK, and then I run into the activation. I'm tyring to install DiagBox.

The instructions say to manually activate using customer code 1234567 and the next screen is as shown in the pic. I assume I need to enter a number where it says .......NOT NEED CODE.... which sounds French for, a code not needed, but when I click the OK button, I get the message "error lexia"

Clues anyone?

Just click the tick/next and it should work OK as its the patched version of diagbox

I'm making progress, I removed (uninstalled) DiagBox and loaded up the PP2000 thing as per instructions on the CD that came with the hardware. I found that Keygen.exe in the PP2000 folder. I went through the installation instructions and got the thing all running (I think). During this installation process it needs the hardware to be connected and a driver loaded, which all seemed to work nice and easy.

Anyway, next up is to connect to my 206. I am hoping it will allow me to re-sync the remote key fob to get the central locking working. I've not yet seen where/how that is done yet, maybe it will reveal itself once the vehicle is attached.
