Voice Recognition

The basic guide doesn't advise on how. So how please.

 

Press button on end of stalk on left side of steering wheel and follow voice guidance. Available commands will also show at top of media screen.

 

Watch it isn't in 'expert mode', which doesn't actually prompt you audibly for voice commands.

Press the voice button (either wheel or end of stalk), wait for beep and say 'Set dialogue mode as beginner' usually does the trick.

 

Also don't expect it to work as soon as you start the car (it will sometimes) but it can take upto about a minute to load everything.

 

Also , just a short press or else you get an error message as i found out !!

 

From what I can tell, a short press on the voice control steering wheel button or stalk end seems to use the in built car voice control, whereas a long press with a CarPlay connected iPhone plugged in to the USB socket of the car, brings up Siri voice control.

It's nice to have the choice when I don't want to have to interact with the touchscreen.
