Hey guys,

I have a few questions for fellow 308 owners.

Im having issues with my Peugeot 308 mk2 2014 1.6 HDi92. When I try to play music from usb drive it says "Unreadable drive". It bugs me because it used to work, with same music and same usb stick. I tried FAT32/exFat and diffrent drive with same results. I used this stick to update maps and it worked afterwards, but then i used it to boot Windows and then i stopped working. Both drives I tried are 16gb, one Kingston other Verbatim and both work on my PC. Did anyone have same issues with their car and knows a solution.

Also, my side indicator (on the mirror) stopped working and a guy at my local store told me that they are sold only as a whole unit and you cant change bulbs in it, is this true and how much can i expect to pay for it?

Are halogen dipped and main beams worth upgrading to better bulp like Philips WhiteVision?

And lastly about squiky noise on rear axle, do services fix it as manufacturing fault as it is or do they charge for it?

Sorry for messy message, English is not my first language.
Greeting from Serbia to all Peugeot lover outhere.

Bonus: photo of my Pug. Little snow does not scare a lion.

Goodness, you have been patient. I'll do my best.

I can only offer generalities. Firstly the pen drive should only be formatted in FAT32 and you should do full format, not a quick format. Don't plug the pen drive into a Mac machine as they are notorious for downloading invisible files and folders. If you've used a pen drive as Windows boot device then you might need to use a partitioning tool to reset it as an ordinary device. You could also try rebooting the radio (sorry, can't remember the process).

Also, my side indicator (on the mirror) stopped working and a guy at my local store told me that they are sold only as a whole unit and you cant change bulbs in it, is this true and how much can i expect to pay for it?
Firstly I would be testing the indicator with my multimeter to see whether it is being fed with power or not. The indicator may not be at fault. If it has gone wrong I don't know how much a new one is but I wold be looking at a second hand one first!

A qualified yes for this. I put Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited bulbs into both our308 and Citroen C5. They are noticeably brighter but be aware that they will not last as long as standard bulbs. In fact one bulb in the C5 (dipped beam) failed just after 12 months!

And lastly about squiky noise on rear axle, do services fix it as manufacturing fault as it is or do they charge for it?
It is known problem and in the UK they are/were fixed without charge. Whether it's the same in Serbia I do not know. Also, the car is now five years old which might be a problem.

The mirror indicator is a sealed unit & it comes complete.

In the UK there ÂŁ40.21 brand new from any Peugeot / Citroen main dealer parts department.

Regarding your USB stick, if you have used it to boot windows, then it means it was partitioned and now has a second, hidden boot partition, and a single format in fat32 (even a full, non quick format) will not do. You have to undo the partitioning, and make it a single partition drive again, and then format to fat32. This way it will work.

Looking forward to changing my light bulps then, I think it's worth it even if i have to change them once a year.

As for the indicator had to change the whole unit since there aren't really any second hand parts in Serbia or anywhere near, it was little less then 40e.

And finally regarding the USB stick, my main problem.

No that's not it, never used it for anything but updating maps and music. I tried 2 other sticks neither worked so i don't think it's flash related. But then again the car does play music from my friend's iPhone so it's not like the socket is not working.

Thanks everyone for your reply's!

According to my handbook:

The audio equipment will only play audio files with ".wma, .aac, .flac, .ogg and .mp3" file extensions and with a bit rate of between 32 Kbps and 320 Kbps.
It also supports VBR (Variable Bit Rate) mode.
No other type of file (.mp4, ...) can be played.
WMA files must be of the standard wma 9 type.
The sampling rates supported are 11, 22, 44 and 48 KHz.
