First post here (great forum by the way) I have acquired a 407 (on 57 plate, full model in sig) and looking for some updates on it, I have done some reading on here about updating and also got some links for the lead to get my iphone playing music through the stereo connecting to the cd changer port.
My issue is this:
I have managed to pair up my iphone to the car, and I can make and receive calls, it mutes OK (and also updated contacts sort of) but when the phone rings it just mutes the radio no ringing, this is fine if the radio is on as the music stops and I can see there is an inbound call (call always shows as private number although I can live with this) but if I have the radio turned right down I dont know the phone is ringing.
Reading through this forum it seems like the firmware on the blue-tooth maybe to old and needs updating.
Now my local main dealer is a place I will never go again due to them trying to rip us off on 2 occasions. At the rear of the office where I work is a Peugeot specialist mechanic (and a rather good one at that) I have spoken to him about updating the firmware and he told me, when it was done via CD updates he could get these but now the updates have to be downloaded via the net and as he is not a main dealer he cannot get access any more.
Now as he is plugging planet into my car to enable the aux 2 port I said I would do some digging and see if I can help (he's scratch my back I should scratch his sort of thing) and he's a real nice guy.
If anyone could help or point me in the right direction it would be really helpful.
On a second note the display is suffering from what seems to be a common issue (when car/interior gets warm display starts to fade, I have read from here that I need to look out for a new display with white background, but can I just put a new one in or does the display have to be programmed up as well?
