Just purchursed a 508 sw estate but radio.not working or CD player or Bluetooth. I have since found out the battery was changed a week ago just before I got it .Now all that shows up on display is old time and date and keeps flashing .Any ideas how I resolve the issue and get everything back to working order.

  • If you press power button (1), does anything happens?
  • If you press mute button (2), does anything happens?
  • If you scroll up or down (4), does anything happens?
- You can try resetting/rebooting radio by pressing eject button (3) for 5-10 seconds and see if it does anything for you.

Ops... Eject button (3) is on the left to the CD slot. What I marked on the picture is screen off button.
I have edited my previous post.

If the screen doesn't come on, it could be a corrupted sd card containing the files for the firmware. You would need to clone the data to a new sd card to use on the head unit or try formatting the same sd card after you've made the backup of it and reinstalling the files back on the sdcard. The files can get corrupted due to bad sectors in which case you need to clone to a new sdcard.

Having no sound from the speaker on a RT6 could be because of open circuit to the the speaker's voice coil or high resistance due to a corroded tract. You can easily diagnose with Diagbox the fault for the head unit or amplifier and get the code and description for a solution.

If there is an open circuit or high resistance to the voice coil, just solder an external wire from the connector leads of the speaker connector to the voice coil. You can manually measure continuity to check for the connection of each speaker if you have a multimeter but Diagbox makes the guessing work easy.
