I'm relatively new here and have been coming for some DPF help with my stepfather's wheelchair-access 2013 Peugeot Partner Tepee.
During correspondence on the forum I was told about the FAP Android phone app, available for about £9 from Amazon UK, that would 'talk' to my stepfather's Peugeot via an OBD2 Bluetooth ELM 327 device, that I'd not long-ago bought for my own non-Peugeot car.
I had some difficulty finding out how to install this FAP app onto an Android phone, which I will not go into detail about here, but the crucial element was (which I did not know at first) is that you already have to have a thing called the Amazon Appstore For Android installed on the same phone. And you have to keep it on, and be signed in, for the FAP app to run.
And here is the rub - Amazon are planning to discontinue the Amazon Appstore For Android. When I found out how to do the app install, a couple of weeks ago (as I write) the discontinuation date was 25th March 2025. On the 'Vans' forum, I've just written out the process for installing Amazon Appstore For Android, and installing the FAP app, for someone who was struggling to do it. And during the run-through, I discovered Amazon has put back their Appstore discontinuation date, at this time, to 20th August 2025.
Who can say if they'll put discontinuation back further at a later date? However I thought it was worth highlighting the fact that, while the FAP app has proved useful (on older Peugeots only, I understand, since it hasn't been updated since 2020) it will only work, to my knowledge, in conjunction with the Amazon Appstore App, which is tricky to find and install on a phone if you've not already got it, and while Amazon will happily take £9 off you, when you click 'Purchase Now', for the FAP app, without the Appstore you will get no download - and if you HAVE the Appstore, once the Appstore is discontinued, in all likelihood, FAP will no longer work, even if it is on your phone. And Amazon would still let you buy it, even if it was going to be useless by tomorrow...
