I think I'm going to buy PP2000 but there are so many versions and prices in eBay.

I'm a little confused, is some better than others or only the price?

Some are described as "full chip" which allegedly means they are capable of working with later models, but it is hard to find out what the limitations/capabilities are. Better to play safe and opt for full chip. Some have earlier firmware, but Issue C seems to be the most recent.

Mine is, I think, neither of those, but it is fine with our 206s. If you are contemplating using yours on later models, it is probably worth paying a bit more.

I have worked my way through 3 adapters as i am a bit rough with them and i can safely say it makes no difference how much you pay as long as its a revision C which nearly all for sale will be it will work fine the software install is the hardest part as the chinglish is a bit iffy to understand :)

PP will not run on a 64-bit system. Most Win10 are 64-bit, which is why the story persists that it will not work with 10. The 32-bit version of Win10 should be ok.

However, if you want to use a 64-bit system, all you need do is install VMWare Player (free for non-commercial use) and create a 32-bit Virtual Machine (XP SP3 is recommended). Install PP into that.

Thank you Ian and reliable406 for the advice, I think I'm going to buy LEXIA 3 rev c, Diagbox V7.83. I've found one for ÂŁ73, is it the good price?
Or can anyone know where I can I get it cheaper?

Andy I think you can't run it on Window 10, The Genkey is a dodgy file and Windows 10 will remove the file automatically.

Thanks for all the advice. But i would like to understand a bit more, basically i need to buy PP software, get this free software for creating a VM so i can run the PP software on my Windows 10 64 bit laptop, but then i read mention of Diagbox, is that better than PP, but will also not run on Windows 10 64 bit without a VM. On top of which i need to connect the laptop via a good interface to the diagnostic socket, is this the Lexia 3 that crops up in discussions?

Can anyone give me a summary of options and ball park costs, along with a good supplier and suppliers to avoid?
Basically all I want to do is use the stuff on my Pug 307 1.6 hdi 2007 facelift.

Many thanks.

Diagbox contains a version of PP, so if the car is suitably old, it will boot the PP instead of the other thing, which appears to be called Diagtool (in my version, anyway). However, installing Diagbox is a laborious process, so if your car is old (like my 206) you can just install PP. Your choice, but you can't have PP and then install Diagbox - the installer will delete the PP.

I haven't tried Diagbox on 64-bit Win10, but it is supposed to work.

The ONLY interface you can use with the Peugeot software is the Lexia 3.

TIP: When installing, do not connect the Lexia to the PC until prompted, or the drivers will not install correctly.

Firstly, PP2000 standalone will ONLY work in an XP environment. It will also likely not work properly on your 307. If you search the net, you will find loads of people with scanning issues with 307's using the earlier interface and PP2000. This is the reason I made sure I purchased a later Lexia interface version and used diagbox/PP2000 combination software as I had a 307. Also 2003 like yours. It works fine.

You will also need to install the software on a 32bit operating system, NOT 64 bit. It will install but will not function properly... I know, I tried all sorts of things with both win7 64 bit and win10 64bit to try to make it work in the 64bit environment. Does not work.

I have installed Diagbox in winXP, Win7 and Win10, all 32bit systems and it functions perfectly. XP version is in an ancient IBM laptop, the win 7 and win 10 installs are in newish toshiba i7 laptops. The win7 install is 32bit in the root drive, the win10 32bit install is on a VD inside a win10 64bit installation.
I also purchased my Lexia kit from a supplier in the UK [Easy Diagnostics] as I had already experienced the 'service' from the chinese market when my brother bought a Lexia kit from china and had MAJOR problems with both the interface and the software. My kit installed without any problems whatsoever, software install was 'idiot-proof'... necessary for me as I am an old relic.. :p
