:help:

I have a 52 plate 307 1.4HDI but when I bought it, it only had one key and it is not a plip key.

Can these be bought separately and programmed to work with my car and can they be bought relatively cheaply?

I have seen plenty of replacement fobs advertised but these come without the electronics inside, also I have seen a few people selling used ones but can these even be reprogrammed to work with another car?

Thanks.:)

Thanks that's a big help.:)

I have read another thread about the transponder code and I would need this as I also never received the card with this on. I understand you need my vin number, would it be possible to e-mail this to you as I am not able to send PMs yet, also how would I pay you for this? Do you use paypal?

NVM: I just read some of the more recent posts in that thread will send you vin via paypal tomorrow

You may be right but that was not how it read to me the description is pasted below and it says it is complete with circuit board and transponder.

Hi, and Welcome, here on offer is >

compatible with for reference only

307 '01>

Comes complete with:-

battery/circuit board/NEW 307 transponder/NEW blade+

A NEW TOP CASE BUTTONS

please note:- Uncut Blade has groove at side HU83

please make sure your keyblade is the same

This Key will require coding at a Main Dealer or Locksmith

I may have to message them and ask them to make absolutely sure it is what it says.

That's a good idea, will do that.:thumb:

Meanwhile, here is the response I got from the message I sent earlier:

Me:
"Can you clarify whether this comes with a new circuit board and transponder or is it just a shell?
I cannot afford to buy a new remote only to find that I cannot use it with my car.
Thanks."

Seller:
"Well it does say in the item it comes complete with circuit board new transponder battery etc., so yes it is a complete working that you can get programmed by a Locksmith..thanks "

OK, so a different approach

Why is a used fob not able to be reprogrammed to work with a different car? Is it purely down to the transponder or is the circuit board somehow locked to the original car as well?

I have seen virgin transponders for sale so perhaps I could just replace this or use the one from my existing key? (of course would also need to replace the blade)

I looked at this eBay sellers advert for a new 206 key, I was hooked at first but he was also unclear in his wording when I messaged him. In the end I bit the bullet and bought my transponder code for a fiver off Betty then got my key done at my local main stealer ;) which came to ÂŁ123 but in the end if anything goes wrong I can easily go back and complain.

Thanks.

Does any one know if the circuit board itself is also linked to the car and if so can it ever be reprogrammed to be used with another car?

I have found somewhere which sells transponders by themselves for only a few quid, but cannot find replacement circuit boards anywhere.

The same place also sells virgin remote keys for around ÂŁ60 and non-remote keys for ÂŁ10.

Only problem is, I did not bookmark the page so I am currently looking for it again.

Meanwhile I did find this site with new non-remote keys with transponder and cut for ÂŁ16.75 + ÂŁ1.40 p+p. Peugeot transponder key HU83T

And on looking further they provide a full postal address (a good sign) and it is 7 miles away from me, but unfortunately they only supply the cases for the remote key. :(

I can remember Stubbo stating in a thread a long time ago that he had a second hand fob reprogrammed.

Use these guys for blade cutting, I did, great service...:thumb:
