Afternoon folks,
My daughter has a Peugeot 207 1.4 Petrol.
The car is making a noise around the engine. Having a look the water pump pulley looks rough with bits of the plastic on the pulley missing.
As the pulley is driven by the auxiliary belt - Can I replace the water pump and pulley without changing the timing chain (I am assuming it is a chain)?

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks in advance.

someone not long ago changed just the wheel, but if you cant find one the whole assembly will need to be changed.

pretty diy stuff, wheel off, lining off and 3 bolts hold it on, the top bolts can be a pain to get to a vortex socket is handy but normal spanner will get there.

book says to remove belt but i dont think this is necessary if you hold out the cable as in vid

Yes I just changed the wheel to cure a really annoying whine, the item is as follows:- INA Auxiliary Drive Belt (ABDS) Deflection Pulley 532067610.

INA is the manufacturer and I got it from a very well known auction site.

I got a horrific quote from Peugeot for the complete assembly, the wheel cost ÂŁ31. If you get the wheel only try to make a mental note of the tightness of the bolt that holds it in place when you remove it as it all tightens up onto plastic and you wouldnt want to overtighten and break the plastic when refitting. I used a little Loctite on reassembly.

Thanks for the response - My water pump pulley was knackered (the belt like surface was missing in parts). I took off the friction wheel and couldn't see too much play. Ill replace the water pump pulley and see if the noise goes away, otherwise, its the water pump or the deflection pulley.

To make taking parts off easier I dropped the engine on the drivers side and was able to access the bolts.
