For anyone that has found that they can't open the rear doors on their Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo.
The clip breaks on the rear door lock. Up to now you had to replace the door lock, now there is a repair kit.

sorry to bump an old thread but I have an 05 Berlingo and I just bought this kit but cannot get the lock mechanism off so that I can replace the clip. There's no way I can get to it with it still fitted to the door surely? Does anyone have any pics of how to do this job?

edit - i've undone the mechanism so it's loose but cannot get the wires off of the lock because the plastic clip parts hold them too tightly..should I use a hairdryer to soften them so they'll pop out? thanks

Thanks wynb, I have tried doing that but to no avail, I will give it another go and perhaps apply a bit more pressure, not easy as the panel seems to have a lot of give when pressure applied.
So is there no sort of button or lever on the inside that I may be able to reach through the hole I made?

I've tried undoing all the visible fixings for the ramp but the main ones are obviously concealed and can't be removed whilst it's folded.

I'll report back once I've retried your suggestion, thanks again, glad to know someone is out there..

Hi, new member but have used read only facility a few times, so thank you to those that give the info.

I have a Partner Combi, 1.9d 2002 model. it was converted from new although I don't have use for the wheelchair facility, previous owners had all that done.

Problem I have is similar to others in this thread, I think, the tailgate is stuck closed but I don't have proper access to be able to remove the inside panel as the folding ramp is up against it.
I have managed to cut through where the 'vent' is and can get my hand in, unfortunately I have no sight of the lock mechanism but can feel my way all around it, there are levers that move but none of them seem to release the door, am wondering if anyone can let me know if there is a way of manually releasing the tailgate via this route.

The electric lock mechanism can be heard clearly when I turn the key in the drivers door but it won't unlock the door itself.

Hope I've explained this clearly, thanks in advance for any advice.

Edit, just realised I'm not in the correct thread, perhaps someone can let me know where to post this question please. It's a partner but it's not a van, I'm unsure what model it would be, it says quicksilver on the side and the conversion was done by 'Morice' in France I think. They seem to have added a plunger type button to the inside of the tailgate, I assume this is for opening the door but it doesn't work, is connected though because it moves when I try the outside handle.
Sorry for waffling but want to ensure I give plenty of info, any help much appreciated..

Self tapper clip fix

You can use a self tapper clip, saves all the faff of getting the old clip out, and a new retaining clip may lose grip after time too I guess. Just screw it over the rod from the end to the right position to pull the lock mechanism, then push it back in the existing retaining clip at the right place, it will hold at that place.

I realise this is an old thread but do you have an eBay or Amazon link to the self tapper clips?
