P20E8 fault code and urea tank

Did anyone actually test the new cap and see if it lets the air in?

I'm taking my car this Saturday for a cap replacement. I bought the second hand 2.0HDI 110KW. It has over 115.000 kilometres on the clock, and the old cap, so how it's possible that pump is still working if the vacuum is the problem?

Also, why wouldn't I just remove the cap and keep it like that so there isn't a vacuum?

Here is the new cap.

I tested it by trying to suck the air from the bottom of the cap, and it indeed lets the air in, so I recommend to everyone to go to the dealer and replace it. Replacement is free.

I would say something in the middle between difficult and easy. I just hope the pump will last a long time. I bought used car, 115.000 kilometers on the clock, no indication that pump was ever changed and it used the old cap all the this time.

According to service box, you can find any 308 T9 BlueHDI and take the tank.

But I would not give up trying with the dealer. Tell them you know TSB exists, try to contact general importer.

I never said 508, I said 308 T9. That's according to part numbers, tank is not the same in 508, but pump might be, but since there isn't only pump to buy, I can not tell for sure.

Irrelevant. AsBlue is separate tank. Cap is plastic and nothing special about it. Problem was that first version of the cap caused the vacuum and pump would die.

Attachment is not visible. If you really read trough tread, you would see that people already posted images of the cap. For example:

Depends what you need to do. For the hardware, get the full chip version. For the coding, you might need an official version of Diagbox if you want to download new software to the car and that is around 45 euros per vin for one week. For the other things, the version floating on the net is enough.

This damn problem just occurred to me. I'll try cleaning the system and if that doesn't help, I'll do the adblue off, can't really waste anymore money on this car.

Well, if you knew me you would know that I am a huge fan of the brand, and only brand I ever drove, but I am considering some other brand for my next car, something which I never imagined I would do.

Dealer wouldn't even consider doing anything since I don't have service book.

And this car has to many expensive issues. Already had to do rear axle and now this crap.

Not true, they can code the most stuff, but tank requires some specific software and it's not done via Diagbox. I personally upgraded my engine ecu, just purchased the token on service box, no reason independent garage can not do it.

Not anyone. If you don't have service history, you are screwed. I bought my car used and didn't get it, dealer didn't want even to talk without it. Luckily, the service and urea warning turned off after longer journey and cap removed completely.

That is ridiculous. Which pressure, who is making that pressure? My advice was to remove the cap since that helped me.

I don't see how removing the cap will burn out the pump. Pump is sucking the ad blue liquid, so it can not make any pressure, only vacuum can happen and that will destroy it, which is why Peugeot had a recall to replace the cap.
