No light for the rear plate number

Hello guys,

I have an issue with the lighting for the rear plate number (both 5W5 bulbs) - there is no light coming from them.
I've put new bulbs - nothing. I've checked every single fuse - in the trunk, underneath the dashboard, to the BSI - there is no one faulty.

I've been in the local Peugeot Authorized Garage. They've told me that some wires were bad, they've fixed the wires, but the part from the BSI which controls the rear plate lighting is faulty and I should found an new BSI - which is crazy, for two bulbs?! Is that possible?

Can I just re-wire from somewhere in the car to the rear plate bulbs without changing the BSI and how?

My car is 2006, month of November (I think) or October. It is with cross-ranged BSI.

Have you checked with multimeter to see if you have voltage at the plug behind the bulb holder? - Yes, there is no voltage on the bulb holders (both of them).

Have you checked the continuity of wire from the bulb holder to the terminating end? I believe the other end goes to the fusebox in the boot - have you checked if there is voltage there? - No, because I thought that the wires going to the BSI (in front of the car). But it makes sense to be wired to the fuses in the trunk, because one of them is for the rear lights (plate bulbs), right?

My proposal is to use low wattage non-canbus LED bulbs and wire into the sidelights - Actually I thought about this, and I wasn't sure if it will work, because of the voltage and the errors. But with LED canbus should work, I will try that!

I've proceeded with the reset - nothing, except the fact that there is no warning message for my front fog lights, which appeared, even after I deleted the error through Lexia.

I've reset the BSI - now I don't have "Fog light faulty" error, which is great!

I have no errors on the dash or in Lexia. I'll get ordinary LED's and I will try to take power from the sidelights in order to re-wire the cables and I hope it will work.

No, I have not tested all circuits... I'll do it tomorrow. Also, tomorrow I will check the ground cables from the plate lights in order to see if there is any issues there.. I will post an update tomorrow.

BIG THANKS TO "BIGK" - You have a beer from me, mate!

What I've done:

I've disassembled the plate lights and with multimeter, which wires are ground and which ones are the positive.
As you can see in the first picture, the green ones are the ground, and the white (for the left bulb) and blue (for the right bulb) are the positive.
I've checked the ground wires first - they were okay. I've tracked the ground cable through the bundle of cables and I've put the multimeter to the ground connector and the other end to the ground cable in the boot - The ground was okay.

I took a positive from the left sidelight and connect to the yellow cable, which usually goes to the BSI of the car and it worked! There were no errors on the dash or anything! Anyway, I've replaced the regular bulbs with OSRAM W5W, which consumption is only 1W instead of the 5W (original bulb).

Thank you again!
