So I have a Peugeot 3008 2017 pure tech allure,

Recently, My car would randomly not start up, the battery would turn on however the engine would not start and the warning light would come up saying 'Monitoring radar fault' and then follow along with immobilizer fault.

This will occur on two occasions. First being while I would drive. Mid driving the fault light would not come on however all the steering wheel functions would disable, this means that, indicators, wipers, and buttons on the steering wheel would not function, Everything else is fine, the car is still driving, all the screens are still on. If I was to turn the engine off, after about a minute or so, it will not turn back on and the fault lamp would show.

Another occasion where this would happen is right from the get go, from trying to cold start - Not all the time though.

Sometimes the car would start normally and all will be fine.

My temporary solution was to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect. This has always worked and the fault would not come up until 2 or so days.

When I had my vehicle in at the dealership for a different reason, they had run a full health check on the vehicle and hadn't said anything about that fault, and when I did ask them about it they said they would need to do a battery health check and road test.

2 days ago I went to my local garage and they did a quick check on the battery and said that the battery is in good condition and it could be the alternator, however the battery is mostly fully charged so I don't know how that can be the case.

Has anyone else had a similar issue or is there anything I can do. I do not have a warranty, so going to the dealership cant be the first option.

When you disconnect the battery, it clears the codes if they are store as a temporary problem.

You need to leave the key in the ignition, turn to on, not start for at least two minutes, turn to off.
This will sync it with the immobiliser and is different to the sync of key (remote) to open the doors.

If there is a next time, you need to scan (PP/Lexia or Equal) without disconnecting the battery and see what the issue is.
Do I do this after disconnecting the battery

Yeah, they key can become removed from BSI and the immobiliser kicks in. I'm making a guess, this might be what has happened in the past.

This 'You need to leave the key in the ignition, turn to on, not start for at least two minutes, turn to off.' re-sync's it if that happens.
Okay so the same fault occurred today and I did as follows:

I disconnected the red wire from the battery

put in the key and turned on - did not turn the ignition

Waited two minutes

then took out the key and plugged the battery back in and started the car.

I hope I have done it correctly? Just got to wait a couple of days and see if it comes back. unless I done the steps wrong.
