Been stalking this forum for a while as I’m just about to order my next company car and accidentally stumbled upon the 3008 whilst researching. I think it’s a stunning car and definitely going to be my next car. Just can’t decide which model to go for.

The choices I’ve narrowed it down to are a

1.2L petrol automatic Allure with wireless charging, powered boot (inc open & Go) and LED headlights

Or

1.6L petrol automatic GT Line with optional open & GO (keyless entry & start/stop button)

The difference I’ll have to pay a month is about £22 for the GT Line so not a massive amount but just wanted opinions from those who have the GT Line if the extra styling etc is worth it. From what I can see, that’s all that I’ll be getting once I’ve added the extras onto the Alllure.

I’m currently test driving a 1.6 petrol auto Allure and its a great car. Don’t think I could go wrong with either model but my heart isn’t pushing me towards the GT Line :)

There are a lot of minor differences between Allure and GT Line. Admittedly some of them don't make much difference, but as a package they really do enhance the overall feel and look of the car. I have to say for such a small monthly cost increase, it is worth consideration, especially if you intend to do longer journeys at higher speed, and with heavier loads. The 1.6 will be beneficial here, although the 1.2 Auto is excellent for standard day to day driving.

Same dilemma - 1.2 Allure auto + led's vs 1.6 GT line auto. Just choosing more extras -"drive assist" + "Safety plus". In addition to mentioned GT line extras may get ACC (not possible with 1.2), and in total GT line is 1750 EUR more. During winter doing more short distance city driving, during summer more motorway and regional roads. Would be great to hear comments of 1.6 THP EAT6 owners - would you go with same engine/gearbox set if buying 3008 again?

I just like to add my 3008 vehicle selection experience so far, if it help;

I test drove 1.2 GT Line before I order way back in last March 2017 but bought 3008, 1.6 Allure (auto) with LED head Lights, Adaptive Cruise, Grip Control, key-less entry (open and go) really loving it and following were my reasons;

- I hate GT line dark hood lining.it make interior gloomy and feels small. My 7 year old son also hate it when travelling back seat. It is really annoying lighter hood lining not available even as option for GT Line.

- Fabric Seats. Fabric seats are not available with GT Line and it is really looks and feels nice. I'm living in a tropical hot and humid country and, it is not uncomfortable to sit even if I left the vehicle for hours under outside. with the GT Line leatherette seats it was terrible. Heat seating also works well in fabric seats also.

- If you go for allure you must get LED head lights. It comes with GT Line front bumper, auto leveling and all other LED lights same as GT Line. But you won't get the Auto dimming function (smart beam assists) which comes with the GT Line (not sure can it be added as option)

- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a must when you use motorways. this is not available with 1.2 engine. ACC works great so far for motorway driving. Anyway it is not good for stop and go traffic.

- I'm receiving 17~18 km/L for motorway driving for my 1.6 engine but in city it is 10~12 km/L. Traffic is terrible hear and my one does not have Start and Stop function (this is not available for our region).

- I added electric seats and only available full electric function for driver seat and for passenger bottom seat cushion electric adjustment only. If you live in LHD country and if you get electric seats most probably you will get passenger lumbar support adjustment also in addition.

- For quick overtaking 1.6 is better than 1.2. there is a big difference on power based on my experience.

- Allure does not have power tailgate you need add as option if needs. But manual one is ok for me.

- If you add seat massage function for Allure operation may problematic as others reported (I didn't get this option) it always come automatically every-time you start the engine and operation option is not same as GT Line.

- Got only 180 reverse cam but not 360 (include front cam), the annoying part is the image quality but it is ok day and night.

You do indeed get this with the Allure + LED headlights, just to clarify :thumb:

I went for the Allure as I too didn't like the dark interior on the GT Line (had similar on my previous V40), I find the Allure dark enough as it is with all the grey materials. I also wanted the seats and interior trim specific to the Allure, and 18 inch wheels max for ride comfort. If you're going to add loads of options then the GT Line possibly makes more financial sense.

Thanks for all your replies. Think for my type of driving, the 1.2L should suffice but think I’m going to go for the 1.6L GT Line version given I’ve been test driving that so anything less would feel a let down. Also prewarned the wife about the black roof and she’s fine with that.

The fact I got permission from the Mrs to get the GT Line has nothing to do with it. Honest :)

My missus has the GT line. She see the dark roof lining and liked it strait off. I think it's because it matches her mood in the mornings.. Come to think of it, it matches her mood all bloody day !!:madwife:

Ah well, bless her:eek:

Grumpy.
