So yesterday evening, I decided to drain & refill the gearbox oil on the 207, 2011 1.6 hdi.
The drain plug is at the bottom of the gearbox. - it's near the bar that goes from one side to another. You can remove it using an 8mm square drain key or a 22mm (I think) hex socket. The torque to tighten it up is 35Nm.
Filling is done via the breather plug at the top. "Power" down the car, remove the battery and undo the 2 bolts in the base of the tray. I just levered it forward at that point to give access. The breather plug is visible at that point but there is a pipe\harness slightly in the way. Pop off the plastic clip that holds it to the tray support - a 17mm flexible ratchet head spanner will get the plug undone - not the best access, but enough.
Undo the filler before you drain - don't want an empty gearbox & you can't find\undo the filler\breather. Obviously tighten up the drain after it's finished draining - should be done in 10 mins max , before you refill.
This is the stuff I used: EP75W80 Plus : Gear & Transmission Oils : Products Guide : Moove Lubricants Limited
It's 75-80 and the all important GL4 rating.
The oil out of the gearbox was minging.
I poured almost 2L's in and then refitted the breather plug & refit the battery.
Started the car up in neutral and let it run for a few mins, check for leaks under the car - none. And then went for a road test - no issues.
It might help someone.
