EV charge/range

My 2008e bought from new is 2yrs old in November. The range quoted by the dealer and in manual was approx 200mls depending on driving and weather conditions.
For the first 6 months(winter conditions) I was regularly getting between 190-195 miles on a full charge. Since then the range has dropped now to 165mls even when setting the ‘drive mode’ to B and eco. My journeys are mainly ‘around town’ with one exception when once a month we drive 80 miles there and back on the M62 up to Leeds and in winter months without using the heating for fear of running out of charge.
A drop in available range of approximately 35 miles(20%) over 18 months is a bit worrying as if it continues at that rate it could be down to 100 mls b4 the car is 4 yrs old.
Is anyone else having same issue/is there a possible battery fault or is it normal?

This is a long standing argument and its not Peugeot that gives these figures, its the WLPT. Read this link but the WLPT gives the claimed 200mile range based on a average 28.8mph speed and generally on a 15c day.
lets face it, how often is it 15c, which is the optimum battery temperature to work efficiently travelling at an average 28.8mph??

This will be no different to any other manufacture, and I will highly doubt anyone will ever reach the acclaimed mileage.

I disagree that it is difficult to reach WLTP range. I know people who have gotten well over the acclaimed range by as much as 60 km/40 miles while driving on the highway driving behind trucks. Other times they got 40 km/25 miles less than WLTP while driving 105 km/h or 65 mph on the highway. Also in 15°C although I disagree that this is the optimum temperature, that would be between 20°C-30°C.

Driving behind trucks and flat roads is not general driving. Driving behind a truck is purposely trying to achieve more range which is slowly than you would normally travel at say 65-70mph.

Yes I am sure you would achieve the range on just flat roads, but how often is that available? It will differ for everyone depending on how you drive, but I would argue the vast majority would not reach those milage claims.

Were you really getting 190-195 miles in winter?? I bought mine when it was just 20 months old I think. The range shown on the car display was never more than 176 miles (it still is when charged full) but I don't think I could ever reach that figure even in the summer. When temperatures were really low this past winter I was getting 60 miles range which was absolutely shocking (1.5mil/kW on average).

Recently I've invested in OBD2 reader so I could see more info as the Peugeot app is trash and the car itself shows very little too - I highly recommend getting one. This now allows me to see the state of charge (in kW and %) as well as some other things. You can also hook it up to the app like ABRP which is great.

The car has an advertised 47.5kW usable battery when new. Mine now has about 41kw after 2,5 years, which is 86% of that figure (OBD app shows State of Health at 93%). Can't say I'm happy about it but then again I have no experience in that so don't know if it's down a lot compared to other brands. It would be good to read your experiences with regards to that guys.

I have only had it for less than 6 months and my car does not charge to the full max,it charges very slow and cuts off after 116. Will get it checked in on the 16th I had to wait a month to get booking with any peogeout service centre in my vicinty. Not expected from a new car.

My 2020 E2008 recently had an ‘upgrade’ of its range, I had reported a disappointing range to the dealer who booked it in for a check, at that time the maximum charge range was showing as 165miles and I seemed unable to get over 100 miles on any full charge. This dealer service then returned the car showing 256miles on a full charge and yet the range is still disappointing, I have taken to setting a trip meter on each full charge and on average I’m getting about half the range shown on the battery meter.
I suspect the ‘service’ just tampered with the displayed range and hasn’t actually improved anything, I love the car but will consider trading it in for something a bit more real world practical.

mine is the same. 3 more issues I have, do you have the same:1- when i drive in city and break & release the accelerator, it charges few additional km autonomy more. but If i turn off the engine few minutes, those charges are gone (volatile charges). 2- the My Peugoet apps, does show your car charges for i.e: for 280km charge but when I get in to car i see only 220KM, so not showing the correct amount of charge. & the app is very buggy/slow to connect to car.3- the music player, when you trun engine for couple of hours and come back to car, the song is not continue from where you left it but it jumps to few songs before.

You may doubt but thats what it shows as the range, the actual range is half that so its a bit irritating to have a dealer do this, possibly to fob me off. I’ve no idea if the actual range improved after their ‘update’ but having the displayed range showing such a high figure just makes me suspect the integrity of this main Peugeot dealer.
