The engineering mode in this pictures, with white background, are from the Bosch's RCC infotainment - the one without satnav. The "code" is 7503900.

For the Continental's NAC system (pictures below), the code is 1111. You have access to what they call "spylogs" and that's just system logs. They are created whenever any internal application crashes or when forced (press and hold the 4th toggle screen - vehicle settings - until you hear a beep, and that's about 10 seconds. 6 seconds later another beep to inform you that the spylog had been written). The firmware is Linux, so you could find on those logs the contents of some /proc files, core dumps, dmesg output and a screenshot of the current screen, some are lz4 compressed.

To access the engineering menu in the NAC infotainment system it's somewhat tricky. You have to start from any screen but the "audio", change to that audio screen and then press again and hold for 6 seconds the 1st toggle switch (audio). You can then copy all the logs to the USB flash drive or just erase them.

They are in portuguese because it's from my system:

hello, i upgraded my head unit from rcc to nac and its working fine but there are beep sounds all the time, can the engineering mode help with logging the new head unit?

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2017 308 Allure with RCC and without SatNav. Today I have entered in Engineering mode accidently. Afterwards while googleing I have found that topic.

I have entered submenus and on one of them I have seen that RCC is showing the coordinates I am at.

I don't have navigation enabled on my unit but I found that I have already have hardware for GPS and WIFI. Is it possible to enable SatNav option?

Best regards,

Due to a legal problem while these cars were being imported, this one don't have a SOS button but while making a revision on roof lightning panel, I have found the complete wiring but only buttons were missing.

I wonder if the BTA II box is still fitted to this vehicle?

BTA II? When I google this I see an aftermarket device?
There is no aftermarket device installed.

There is no aftermarket device installed.
The BTA II is a separate box connected to the round green socket on the back of the infotainment unit & it provides mobile data coverage for traffic alerts & also a connection for the Peugeot / SOS connect emergency call system.

No matter why it is installed but the device has WIFI & GPS, there is no reason for it to have a SatNav I think. As far as I know the device is running on linux and it can be programmable.
Is there any example of programmed RCC?

For wifi, the situation is same like GPS. It can connect to my phone's hotspot, it has a hotspot function but there is no app/function on it run with an internet connection.

Awkward device. :)

That infotainment system is a RCC A2.
For the end user, the difference between RCC A1 and A2 systems is that the former doesn't have the Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto or MirrorLink support, where the latter does. They are also almost physically identical, but the A2 has a GNSS socket (Global Navigation Satellite System, such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS). In other words, that system has "GPS" but no navigation software - It can tell you where you are in coordinates, but it can't navigate you from point A to B.

Both RCC and NAC systems (the one with internal sat nav) are Linux based, using the GENIVI Alliance system, but there isn't any easy way of installing navigation software there...
