Endless problems with 1.6TDi 5008

Hi everyone,
We bought a used 5008 about a year ago, but it's just developing more and more problems. I'm farily handy with cars, but these issues seems to be electrical and I'm running out of ideas.

First thing is the "Anti pollution system faily", that popped up a few months after we bought the car. I've replace the pressure sensor twice, and measured 5v and 3v on the contact but the issue is intermittent according to my scanner so it might just be failing when I'm not measuring. DPF regeneration seems to work and I get valid readings on soot load, but running a standing regeneration always fails after a few minutes (still get the soot level down though).

Then there's the thing where the indicators flash double-speed even though all indicators are working fine. This comes and goes, and the scanner shows both rear indicators illumunation faults (CF25 and CF26).

Next is the ABS/ESP failure I've seen other have here as well. This appeared recently, after the car was not used for a few weeks due to cracked springs. After I replaced the front springs, dampers and stuff drive the "Handbrake failure", "ABS failure", "ESP failure" came up on the test drive. First thought if course was that I had managed to yank the ABS sensor cables, so I bought new sensors for both sides and replaced them without improvement. I didn't have my scanner back then, but I've now scanned the car and both front sensors are showing intermittent errors.

Here's the errors I've seen so far.
CF25 Left rear direction indicator illumination fault
CF26 Right rear direction indiciator illumination fault.
U1 21 3/intermittent Vehicle speed information received by the CAN from the ABS or ESP ECU invalid.
B1 116/intermittent ECU supply voltage too low. (cleared and havent come back).
B1 128/intermittent Left hand headlamp height adjustment stepper motor circuit failed (cleared and haven't come back)
C1 331/temporary Right front wheel speed sensor signal fault.
C1 320/temporary Left front wheel speed sensor signal fault.
C1 321/temporary Left front wheel speed sensor signal fault.
P0 472/intermittent Exhaust differential pressure sensor signal failt.
P1 457/intermittent Exhaust differential pressure sensor signal failt.
P1 434/intermittent Additive system fault
P1 490/intermittent Regeneration uncompleted
A4C7 Right rear reversing lamp illumination fault
CF25 Trailer fuse box or bodywork converter unit left rear direction indicatur fault (trailer)
CF26 Trailer fuse box or bodywork converter unit right rear direction indicatur fault (trailer)
A4C7 Right rear reversing lamp illumination fault

To me this all feels like some strange grounding issue, but I don't know where to start looking. I've checked the contacts on the fuse box on the battery and used electrical cleaning spray all over. All fuses seem fine. Almost all errors are intermittent which of course makes troubleshooting complicated.

An interesting thing is when I put my scanner to show "live data" from the ABS/ESP ECU it works fine for a while, then suddenly it freezes and the instrument tells me it's not able to communicate with the ECU any more.

Battery is at 12.5V with engine of, and about 14.4V with engine running.

If anyone has any ideas on what I should check I'd be grateful. We've borrowed a small Fiesta so we get around, but really are dependent on the family-freighter to fit all kids and stuff.

Thanks,
Anders

Edit: Correct engine in title.

Sorry that I'm late to reply but that's correct! Of course it's a 1.6 diesel "9HZ". Don't know why I was so off, because I know what engine it is.

For anyone that might be searching for the same problems in the future, here's what was the actual issues:

  • Indicators, rear light, trailer issues: Water in the trailer electrical connector.
  • All issues with exhaust, regeneration, et.c: Clogged pipes to particle filter.
  • Issues with ABS, speed sensors. Bad magnets in front wheel bearing (used for ABS readings).
