Thank you both, yes it’s keyless with two fobs. One working, one not
I checked the battery with a multimeter but maybe not in the exact spot that the fob neg contact would be.

I will take a look at both pieces of advice today

I tried the instructions but with the clutch pedal pressed, the engine starts
I think the instructions say that the ignition should be on, which isn’t the same thing

How long do I hold the fob to the reader ?

the car will start with that faulty? Fob held in place

It looks like you were right about the transceiver and at least having a key fob that will start the car is better than nothing.

when you use the metal key to unlock, then open the door, the alarm goes off. Would using the key fob at the emergency start sensor switch the alarm off?

Was the new battery a Duracell. I have heard some people have had issues with them due to the bitex coating they put on them causing a poor connection. Cleaning with Alcohol or nail varnish remover can sometimes get them working

I checked it with a multi meter as someone above said a similar thing but thanks anyway
