Lock door with remote and hold button down windows should close, if not hold key in lock position in door should work

If you have had no rattles when starting from cold or random engine lights then over night not starting is not likely to be chain. I would try resetting adaptives with planet.

I think you can also reset by holding throttle pedal on floor for 10 secs with ign on but cannot remember 100% (diagbox displays reset process during actuator tests).

Worth checking VTI Motor function and VTI solenoids in actuator test to confirm function

Daughters 207 1.6 VTI had similar problems, I reset adaptives (as I had battery off for three days during clutch/gearbox work and it defaulted to standard settings and I did not go through learning process). This improved things for a couple of weeks.

In the end I removed Solenoids and cleaned filter screens, cycled VTI motor a few times to prove it worked reset adaptives again let it warm up as per learning mode. Then did overrun learn (diagbox explains) then I took it for a 40 mile drive mixed driving including revving the nuts off of it and it has been 100 % since.

There is a known issue on some VTI euro 5 models which requires a mod to coolant sensor (replace existing and add additional one in place of drain point). Maybe worth a VIN check with dealer
