Battery Charge or Electrical Supply System Faulty - followed by more errors!

Hi all,

New to the forum, but I could use your opinions on this case as I'm scratching my head trying to figure it out. I have a Peugeot 308 1.6 e-HDI from 2012.

A few weeks ago I received an error saying "Battery Charge or Electrical Supply System Faulty" followed by "Engine Fault. Repair needed". To be honest I didn't pay much attention to it because these errors did not reflect on anything physical or tangible, and the car ran well. At least until this week. These days I noticed the wheel is moving a bit heavier than it used to, when I press the brake pedal, the pedal seems to "tremble" a little, and when I run the car in the 2nd or 3rd gear and I take my foot off the gas, the car starts to lump or tremble a bit, as if it doesn't have enough power to keep going. Today more errors appeared - ABS system faulty, ESP/ASR system faulty.

A battery issue seems like a no-go since it was already replaced, so I don't think there's an issue there. I'm planning to take the car to a garage next week but I'd like to have some ideas on what to expect.

Any advice/opinions you can share would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Ian, Thanks for the feedback. I went on and checked the battery voltage and the results were fine. My question is - if there was an issue with the alternator not sending electricity properly to the battery, wouldn’t that have caused the car to stop working completely and not power on? I mean it would have been enough to turn the lights on and run with them on for 2 days to cause the car to dry out of electricity. Could this be a problem with the coal set of alternator? Thanks again!
