Android headunit wiring for 407

Hello!

Last year I had an issue with an Android headunit not playing sound at all. Well, that was because my Peugeot 407 is built with a stock JBL sound system, amplifier and subwoofer.
So I needed a special harness to grab power signal from the original radio and turn on the ampflier to play whatever I wanted to play on the radio - FM radio, mp3 files, youtube videos, and so on.

Now, that headunit doesn't have a fast CPU neither 4G mobile data for easy internet on the spot without using my smartphone as a hotspot. So I thought about upgrading it to a better model and use this current Android in my wife's Peugeot 307 (only need the canbus, cable and frame, and these are fairly easy to get). And her car doesn't have an amplifier, so...

So I bought a new Android, this time a Tesla style vertical screen with an 8 core CPU and 4G. I made sure to ask the seller if it was compatible with a 407 with JBL amplifier, and they told me yes.

Honestly, the sound is actually great, better than the other headunit. I can feel the subwoofer better at low volume levels, and the whole volume is more gradual. Anyway, my problem is only the radio actually plays sound. Youtube videos and mp3 files do not play. I mean, with an external speaker through the RCA outputs, it plays.

After a carefull check on the harness and cables they provided, I noticed they arranjed the wires in a strange way.

As you can see, the black power connector on the back of the Android headunit, a blue wire comes out and splits into two blue wires: one into the +12v remote, and another to the JBL amp wire. It should work, right? But that blue wire comes out from the ANT wire, the antenna. So only the radio action actually turns on the amplifier.

According to an internet search, I know I must connect the red ACC wire to the AMP wire?

Anyway I tested a few configurations by now, and none will trigger the amplifier to turn on if not the radio.

Note 1: the black power connector has a red ACC wire coming out of it, it goes into the canbus box, not to the harness.
Note 2: that AMP wire coming out of the white connector on the back of the Android, is loose and doesn't connect anywhere.
Note 3: one of the experiences I did, was to cut that blue wire going into the JBL amp pin of the harness. Even with that wire cut from the rest, it still works to play sound from the radio, so there is something else providing the power on signal to the amp.
Note 4: I'm currently exchanging messages with the seller; altough they are not being too helpfull, they end up replying my messages with a vague attempt to help; thats why I'm helping myself through internet, videos, and wiring information.

I'll accept suggestions on what wire I must connect to where.

Check in the head unit that canbox is correctly identified unit to what you have. It might be an issue there.

Also, the DSP chips and radio chip tend to be better (more beefy/better sound) as they upscale the Android headunit processors.

Another thing (might be the source), mine has power amp in the (top) pull down menu (looks like a speaker), make sure it's turned on, or else your wiring experiments and issue may have fallen fail of this being turned off. This is saved in the unit (ie, reboot etc), but default is normally off, would affect the Android OS but maybe not the radio (which uses it own chip). - only just thought of that...

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Marcio

did you ever solve this issue with the Tesla style one where your remove the radio, and lower coin / ashtry but reuse the aircond controls ? Assume same as in the pic.

I have a Raise S-RZ-PSA03 canbus unit that does the same thing - only plays sound in radio and have the same wiring re blue wire to AMP pins as your diagram. All the other functions work (steering, air cond, trip). I also get the music from the RCA jacks if I use a speaker

I tried another canbus Hiworld PA20.12 but the harness it comes with assumes you have the smaller screen and leave the old PSA radio (eg has a male and female quadlock connector) - that also works ok but some functions are not the same and the sound from the radio does not work at all.
