Android Auto No Longer Working on Bluetooth alone

I have had my new 308 Allure since April have been using Android Auto via the Bluetooth link without a USB cable. It has been a little flaky, losing the connection from time to time but I could always get it back by reconnecting. This week it has just stopped connecting; it works fine with a USB connection. I have done all the obvious things, rebooted the phone, "forgot" the Bluetooth connection and re-paired etc all to no avail. All other Bluetooth functions seem fine, basically the phone is all I use. (The Peugeot app is a joke but has been since the start!)

The phone is a Samsung A20 and all software is up to date, the car reports it has the latest software too.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I have a similar problem which started at the beginning of August.
Despite my best efforts I cannot get Android Auto to connect to the screen. I mostly use it for navigation so this is quite annoying.
I´ve tried most things suggested but no luck, yet.
According to the Peugeot App it seems there is some kind of update but I have no idea how to do this.

Tried now with 2 phones (Samsung) and it doesn´t work with either.
I can still use the navigation (rarely listen to music or take calls when driving) on the phone, miss the screen.
A trip to the dealer coming up. It´ll be the first time the car has gone back other than for regular service, not bad at all.

Just back from the dealer and it is working perfectly, all the apps of course the navigation.
The dealer (very efficient) updated the system and suggested using care over quality of cable used and age of phone!
I used the same cable and phone used for the last two years on the drive back and all went well.....make sure the connections are good. The port on your phone clean (they collect a lot of dust).
It is fixed and the dealer said if it happens again, get back to them but it shouldn´t.
At the time we lost it, beginning of August, we were in a remote area with little or no data connection. I don´t know if that affected it.
If you care is still under warranty (In Spain it is if you are paying instalments...can´t buy Stellantis any other way. We are in Spain) all maintenance is included, except tyres.
Fixed and the screen seems more sharp as well.
I hope this helps elsewhere but if under warranty, head back to the dealer.
Ps I worked out they had updated the system as the a/c and other accessories were switched off. A few tweaks and all sorted.
Happy and happy with the car as well (2008 Allure Pack+with 8 speed auto) super on the long drives we often do.
