Hi. I live in London (South) and I own a Peugeot 207 Sport CC 1.6 (2007) with 35,000 miles.
The car was bought private (not dealership) and worked perfectly for the first 6 months.

Recently I have had all dashboard warning lights come up, These used to be intermittent and and are now up permanently.

I have the errors:

• 'Depollution System Faulty', with loss of power to the car (limp mode).

• I have lost use of my speedometer

• Lost complete power steering to the car

• 'Engine Temperature' fault temporarily for the first 10 minutes of driving (although the engine temperature is ok)

• And have a 'ABS Braking System Faulty' error. However, the braking on the car still works as normal.

• The roof electrics are now not working.

However, I have seen online that this seems to be a very common problem with the Peugeot 207, with some people reporting that there can be a fault with water ingress leaking into the wiring loom.

I have tried replacing the car battery, which has not resolved the issue. And a scan into the ECU located in the glovebox does not feedback on these errors.

It seems as though a lot of people have had their car taken to a garage, with feedback from them being unsure. Leading to potentially a lot of money being asked to try to resolve the issue by trial and error.

If I take my car to a garage, I would like to have an indication of what the resolution should be, as it seems that most garages from peoples experience are unclear on what to do to fix these problems. I also understand that some people have had Peugeot cover the cost of parts and labour, even though the car is out of warranty (my model is now 8/9 years old).

If anyone also knows how to have Peugeot cover the problem, it would be a great help as the costs quoted by people's experiences have been in the ÂŁ1000's.

I don't know much about the technical side of things, so any advice would be very helpful and appreciated.

Thank you all. Michael.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'll definitely start with these suggestions.

If it means that water has corrupted the electrics in the ECU, is it possible to have the ECU rebuilt? And if so, how much of a big deal is it to have that done...

Expensive? And does anyone know or can recommend anywhere that'll do it for me?

Thank you :)

Thanks mate, so I disconnected the battery today and all plugs leading into the ECU. I couldn't find any moisture in the ECU plugs.

I then opened up the engine fuse box and disconnected all plugs leading in to check the same. Again, there was no moisture to be found.

So (as far as I can tell) there is no leak into the system.

I've sprayed in and around all connectors, connected the battery and started the car.

As usual, all lights on the dashboard:

• ABS
• Power steering
• No speedometer
• No mileage being digitally displayed
• And the error 'Coolant System' showed on the dashboard.

What my car does is the needle for the temperature gauge sits at the highest temperature, and eventually returns to normal after about 10 minutes of driving.

I've done a scan, which produced the errors:

• P0501 (Vehicle Speed Sensor A Range/Performance)
• U0121 (TPS/Pedal Position Sensor A CKT Range/Performance)

Those two errors are able to be cleared manually (temporarily) however all lights on dashboard remain.

And the error:

• P0117 (Engine Coolant Temp Circuit Low Input)

Which cannot be cleared.

It might also be my imagination, but I think my engine coolant level is going down faster than usual and needs to be topped up more often (but there was definitely no moisture in the ECU plugs).

Thanks all.

Thanks gents.

Will take that advice.

Not knowing too much about the technicals, is it possible for one sensor (I.E. the coolant temperature sensor) to potentially have an affect on / cause all the other errors?

Also, if it's the ABS pump that needs replacing, again, would this have an affect on all other issues. And if so, are they expensive to replace?

Appreciated.
