A couple of days ago I noticed the car steaming up so I tried the aircon by setting it on cool, and it isn't blowing cold at all.
I thought, oh no it needs re-gassing, however a mechanic friend of mine pointed out that the compressor clutch is not engaging. We tested to voltage to the compressor with a multimeter and only achieved a reading of 3.2v not the 12v required (advised by Peugeot Doncaster).
I have checked all fuses both in engine bay and glove box and none are blown. Also I have had the car on PP2000 and tested the BSI and aircon ECU with no faults present.
I have read elsewhere on this forum that if the gas has leaked out then the system will detect this and not send voltage to the Compressor in order to activate the clutch mechanism, is this true?
Is there a relay hiding somewhere for the compressor?
Any help would be very much appreciated as I am reluctant to pay Peugeot dealer prices for them to scout around scratching their heads (as usual
