ABS/ESP/Parking Brake Error

Hi,

I have a 3008 1.6HDi from 2010.
I have been randomly getting a warning that Parking brake fault, ABS/ESP Fault etc.
After stopping and restarting the car the error would usually clear - I did try to take it to a garage to have any codes read but as the fault had cleared there were no codes evident.
However, this 'error' is now becoming more regular?
Has anyone experienced this before? I have read some threads that suggest that the 'parking break light switch' COULD be the cause.
The error, coincidentally (or not?) occurred for the first time the day after I had both rear discs and pads replaced....
Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

I have had the same problem parking brake esp/abs fault for the past two years with a 3008 diesel hybrid 2013 it comes and goes, could a faulty calliper be at fault the handbrake labours when engaging which has to be done manually, the hybrid aspect of the car does not function whilst the error is showing, having failed to fix at the Peugot garage despite replacing an abs sensor, they said a new auto brake is €1200 , I see someone mentioned the switch, how much should that be? Once this is fixed it’s being sold!

In the UK you can get a switch for under €20 (on Ebay) lots of places will want to charge you a lot more, so shop around. You tube videos show you how to fit them. Such as this one When the switch becomes old it becomes intermittent; and so does the problem. Mine was replaced last year, and I now have a spare in the glove box. If it takes you more than 10 minutes to do, you made a cup of coffee in the middle! easy and low cost job, and if it doesn't fix it, it's one more thing you can rule out.

Hi, I had sumt similar, what happened on mine was in the end 2 things, but initial errors were:

Because of rear ABS sensor gap wrong, ABS, ESP & Parking Brakes faults appeared with occasional limp mode on OBD reset.

and the independent garage I used had done lots of 3008s with same issue:

A. Rear disc backing plate corruded until gap incorrect & touched abs ring ruining it, hence backing plate was cleaned up, & new discs with abs ring & pads
B. Rear wiring loom corroded hence garage cut out bad, and resoldered.

This rectified mine
