I can confirm that the shock therapy created by offering another driver a jump start with my engine turned off has fixed the ABS/ESP display error. It is very unusual to drive this car without readout errors on the screen.

I can't promise it will last, but it confirms the diagnostic meter that indicated no faults, currently.

its a 407 HDI, do you know if it is a sensor that needs to be professionally fitted? i know 1 end is on the front hub,any ideas where the other end goes to? do i need to disconnect the batery to fit it, and is it hard to fit, will i be able to fit it myself

Not too difficult to do, 9 times outa 10 it'll need drilling out.

Follow wire disconnect old sensor and connect new one in engine bay when it is fitted in the hub, job done warning wont show anymore but will be logged in ecu.

My front abs sensor is gone!

Should I replace it with a Genuine one from the dealers for ÂŁ50 or get one a copy one from local motor factor/eurocarparts for ÂŁ20ish?

I know on some previous car a vectra, the ecu didn't like copy electrical parts/sensors.

Mines got ones from eurocarparts and has had without issue for the last 3 or so years.

Think gsf and ebay might be cheaper, never heard of anyone complain of poor quality abs sensors straight after fitting.
