I think I'm getting closer!

Hi Kalamaki Bob, If you go to the top of the main page, click on "Peugeot Forums", then select "308" down the left hand side, in there is a post about updating maps for a 308, labelled "sd sat nav card" a gentleman called m3mpower seems to offer updated maps for the Peugeot 308. Hope that leads to where you need to be.
Martin.
Thanks Martin. My updates would be via download/USB key so 'another site' might have what I need. With the 308 it appears 2.10 is the cut off. Anything older needs a dealer visit but above that and you are good to go so with 2.60 I'm ok. Hope the update gives me 7 fig postcodes!

Many thanks

Bit the bullet!

I'm always wary of non official updates and things but I have just updated to RNEG2.80 via GPSUNDERGROUND download. Mainly on the back of the sound advice of MWYATT and others on both this site and GPSUNDERGROUND.
My local dealer didn't have a clue and would have charged me to prove it!

Thanks Chaps!:)

An update on my experiences with the RT6. With the kind help of MYWATT, I upgraded my RT6 from v2.1 that it was built with, initially to v2.31. Like everybody else, I have experienced the reduction in sound from the reverse beep and the camera warnings. Today I decided to bite the bullet and go straight to v2.80, reading on the GPS forum that this may fix the sound problem. Alas, it hasn't and they are both still too low.
As for inputting a full UK 7 alphanumeric postcode, I was told that it would work when I upgraded to v2.31 but it didn't, however it does now work with v2.80.
I have also had no problems with bluetooth when making calls from my mobile but I have not tried streaming music as I dont really bother with that feature.
I know some people have had to wait for quite some time whilst upgrading but for me both were quite quick by some other peoples experiences, 24 minutes when I installed v2.31 and only 15 minutes for v2.80.
Rather than vis Peugeot, I am hoping to attempt turning up the volume of the reverse beep and camera alert using the Mirascripts option but I am going to await guidance to do this as when I inserted my USB earlier, it came up with many options and I am not sure which one to choose.
regards clive.

I'm currently on firmware RNEG2.60.F.1 and i want to update my emyway to 2.80(on my DS3)

Did you update from the same firmware to 2.80 without any problems? You did not need to go to a dealer for recalibration?

Thank in advance!

Several 508 owners with the RT6 satnav unit have successfully updated from various earlier firmware versions to version 2.80 without any issues

A few have had 'calibration' issues regarding in particular the revering bleep volume and also the phone volume (as heard by the call receiver) but it would seem to be a simple fix by any obliging dealer :thumb:

Hi, If you upgrade to 2.80 and have low volume reversing "bleeps", that is a simple correction using Mirascripts and Datexplorer, both readily available. No need to go to your dealer for that. I have no experience of correcting the volume of Bluetooth, as I have never had any problem with that volume.
Perhaps others could give a solution to correcting the Bluetooth volume to this Forum.
Martin.

Hi John, Mirascripts and Datexplorer are 2 programs available from GPSUNDERGROUND that enable the user to alter the user settings on an RT6 unit. A knowledge of computers is useful when using these programs, be careful what you alter, one wrong setting and you can turn the RT6 unit into a brick very easily.
Search the gpsunderground site for "mirascripts" and "change sound level alarm radar", read carefully, all very straight forward to use if you follow the information available.
All done at your own risk.
Martin.

Hi Martin,

I've downloaded the files mentioned, followed the instructions given by 'bolotelewidz', when I put the USB in the RT6 it reads the media (this is before I've copied to my PC) but it does not seem to copy anything back to the USB that I can then edit, because when I try to look at using Dataexplorer it refuses to find the 'user_config.dat file'

Any suggestions

Steve

Hi Touilii12, ask your dealer to use the calibration file to update your car. I have seen somewhere on this forum that the calibration file has no effect on Firmware 2.80, but I cannot find that reference at the moment. It might have been better to have had the calibration file installed first, but hindsight is wonderful !! Other forum members may have solutions by playing with Mirascripts, I have not been down that route to cure echo problems because I not encountered the echo problem on my car.
Best regards, Martin.

Hi mwyatt tanks for the reply. well thats not good news then because i updated to sw 2.80 from sw 2.70 and its gone worse laggy system echo as i mentioned before im really not happy with the update is hat made my rt6 half usable. would the dealer be able to downgrade the system or reboot it back to factor and recode to my VIN? I hope their is a solution as its just gone worse for me. i tohught i had the calibration file in my rt6 as i was on 2.70 which i could update from and there was no echo then so i thought it was ok to update . going to dealers tomorrow morning i hope they can fix it no leaving until they do

kindest regards.

I am having the same problem, with the echo, with the caller hearing their own voice.

I upgraded via my dealer from 2.20 to 2.80 so that I could get the full postcode entry, which works fine, but have had the echo problem since then. I presumed the dealer had installed the calibration file along with the software upgrade, but obviously not.

I will be phoning them tomorrow to arrange a visit so they can have a look at it, but would be very interested to know what your dealer says about this.

Thanks Touilii

Hi plummy,

I guess I'm not the only one then. Lol YH I really would like to hear what the say about it aswell because they done it for you its thier problem. I did the update myself with a cd but ok going tomorrow and I'll explain and I hope they can fix it and charge me. Lol doubt they will do for free but I'll try. We're are u based Tammy? I updated from 2.70 so I thought I had calibration file already I guess not. These dealers never know nothing.

Kindest regards
