408 GT Issues

Hey all, just got my new 408 GT and so far loving it, really nice interior and super smooth to drive, but I have noticed a few issues/have questions:

1. The navigation maps think I am like 20 miles in another location, so when driving, it is just driving through roads and open areas, any ideas on how to solve this? If I go to the maps and then press the 3 bars at the bottom right, at the top right it says "no connection"?
2. The Peugeot app doesn't really do anything? I thought I'd be able to turn on the car/unlock/lock similar to my old Ford, but honestly, I get nothing and the app doesn't offer a way to update/re-install updates.
3. I thought the GT edition had the claw effect indicator lights, but that doesn't seem to happen?
4. The right side up/down style button on the steering wheel when pressed says something like "no playlist selected", what the heck does that mean? anyway to make it useful?
5. The traffic sign recognition is pretty awful? Feels like most of the time it's wrong or just shows "--"?
6. Do all GT cars have the matrix lights? and can I confirm these are the lights that have the sort of vertical beams that get turned on/off as oncoming traffic passes by? And if anyone has tried these, what are they like? are they reactive enough? My old ford had a similar feature, but was mechanical instead and was very slow.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
1. You need to register your car in MyPeugeot app and activate connected services in order to eSIM inside your car to start working.
2. Once you activate all the services in MyPeugeot app, the car will ask you to install some updates (you need a WiFi for that), then the app will give you ability for remote control.
3. This one is supposedly a firmware update that only later cars from the end of 2023 got, although it was mentioned in every brochure from 2022, it is an obvious misleading from Peugeot.
4. If you have Radio active where you preselected your favorite radio stations, it will show you them as a popup on the drivers screen so you can quickly choose them and not just blindly scroll, also useful for those who are playing music from the USB stick.
5. For me it works just great/fine, those (--) appear only on the merging roads/turns or something like that, sometimes there's no signage to read.
6. Matrix Lights are active all the time at night (if enabled in the options as High Beam Assist) or when it's dark enough, you will see on the top left of your drivers screen a blue high beam icon, if it's green, means it is there for you, but not active right now (not blasting light). They are cutting a part of the beam dynamically (follows the car in front) to ensure that upcoming and undergoing traffic is not dazzled. But keep in mind that the system is smart enough to not use it in well lit Cities, it basically turns it off. If you override AUTO light settings with your left hand stick, it will just blast light without Matrix function. Mainly it works at night on the highways or any roads out from the lit Cities (like a country road), where this feature is more useful.

The car contains a highly detailed user manual with friendly UI inside, just tap with 3 fingers on your media screen and tap on User Manual icon.

Hi there,

Thanks for the response, I ended up noticing what you meant so for context, I have got the app, my car is registered, but the car will not create the "secure Bluetooth" connection between my phone and car. I have tried many ways, but it will not "pair securely" with the car, and just ends up saying it's unsuccessful, so all of the services, I can't active without that "secure" pairing, any ideas?

Update:
I phoned Peugeot and it turns out the previous owner has still got active subscriptions for the connected services, so they are escalating to remove them.

Thanks for the information, and depending how the removal of the accounts and relinking my own app, we shall see what happens.

My car has the Allure plus pack and the car was purchased in July last year, on the My P app I can unlock/lock the car turn the lights on and sound the horn, I have seen posts where people can set the air con from the app. Looks like there are different possibilities depending on the car.
I also have the auto headlight dip capability which is excellent as we live in an area which is only accessible by an unlit road over hills which has a lot of twisty bends.

Hi, I have 408gt. Peugeot app is just a bunch of data for me. There is no option to stop/start engine or similar things. It may depend on car version and the country or region.

i have been using this car since February 2024. I have been facing Engine Failure warning just before the ignition for every 10-15 ignition. I went to service, they upgraded the software which decreases the warning frequency. They said this is somehow common between 408 and 508 models, and it is a software feature 😂

active matrix beams seem to be sufficient during darkness. Neither cars just in front me or coming from opposite directions never shows any discomfort signs. i drive always within clear line of sight.

Hey, so yeah, I am supposed to have remote control, plus the e-remote, but it's fine, I have taken it to the garage, and one of the software updates has corrupted, and my telematics box isn't working, so I can't update, access 4G/Wi-Fi or any connected features (including pairing my phone to the car), so they are gonna fix it in a few weeks and replace the box, etc, gotta love Peugeot :D

And yeah been using the matrix lights, definitely quick to update!
