Hi

What do you think this noise is? See video. It is repetitive, not really linked to engine revs. It sounds like it coming from timing belt area rather than aux belt.
Car been off road, garaged and had full suspension change, gear oil and engine oil change. Fresh fuel added. The noise appeared present before all this work, if anything it was louder.
Car has 52k miles and last timing belt kit change and aux belt was early 2017, 17k miles only.
Water pump never changed which was asked for. Garage said exhaust would need removing to access the waterpump, only discovered whilst doing job. Maybe water pump?

Opinions on cause?

Engine oil shell helix 5w40 A3 and changed annually less than 6k miles.

Thanks

How do I remove alternator belt? On another car make it was spanner turning clockwise on hex nut on tensioner puller.

I listened to a few YouTube videos and this car is becoming similar in sound, like a canary cherping on, off etc.

Noise is definitely from timing belt area, when I go to alternator it is quieter.

What torque on alternator tensioner to nip up?

Assuming water pump, does the exhaust need removing from engine end to allow engine to be dropped a bit to remove water pump? This will be a garage job.

Shame the garage didn't call me up last time timing kit plus water pump was requested as this belt looks like new and done only 17k, albeit 7.5 years. Probably got another 2 years before touching.

Thanks
