Hello

brand new too this forum and this is my 1st post, i have tried to search for this topic and gone back as far i can and still not really found a answer to the question, if any one can simply link me to what i know that would be a real help, if some one has posted this in the past.

My question is, i just bought a 07 307cc, which is basically fully loaded, very happy with it and wanted to put a RT3 with full color screen to make it one mean machine.

I bought this listing
PEUGEOT 307 GPS SATELLITE NAVIGATION UNIT | eBay
and got the full package with loom the works, i am very happy to have found such a great listing.

How ever i have now read about this can bus and cam bus thing, this unit seams to be a van, as its out a 04, and i will be certainly be a cam.

can any one tell me what to do next? or has any one had any experience with this.

I can buy this unit as i know its a cam bus
SAT NAV PEUGEOT CITROEN RT3 GPS | eBay, and swap the unit i have bought if any one thinks that will work even if its from a citron it should work?

Again thanks for any ones help in advance.

Tom:)

try this link

I did something similar and wrote the above link. In short had to change the fascia loom and the central dash display to get all the controls to interface with the unit. I still have a CAN bus reader to fit in order to improve the accuracy of the GPS by feeding in a speed pulse.

If you decide to do it, getting the correct loom is the important bit as there appear to be lots of options available and the exact one will depend on the equipment you have in the car, whether there is a separate amp etc

I may have misread your original post, what do you have currently installed? (the dangers of reading and answering posts from a phone!)

pre-facelift cars are typically CAN-VAN, meaning the engine and important systems are on a CAN system and the comfort stuff is on a VAN system incl the radio etc. The BSI acts as an interface between the two systems

If you have a simple RD3 headunit, an adaptor loom can be made, the sticky at the top of the audio section for the 407 will give a good idea and there is somewhere on here a link for a 307, this would save fitting an new fascia loom as I Google will give you some links, many in French but all useful for building the loom you might need depending on what you currently have

To answer your question about the second link you posted a CAN headunit will not work in a CAN-VAN car

Then you may be lucky and have a CAN-CAN system, it may be worth checking in servicebox or with a friendly dealer that this is the case. If it is confirmed, it would be a case of fitting and configuring using Planet. One question though, do you have the fibre optic cable for the screen, it goes from the quad lock to the display?

Your car is full CAN whereas the 04 car it came out of is VAN/CAN so it's likely the head unit will not work. Not sure about the display as never seen the satnav display up close. The standard display on the 04 model has a different connector to the standard display in an 07 car. There is a chance that the bigger screen may not work either.

If you end up selling the original setup that you bought from ebay then I would be keen to purchase as I've been looking for an full kit at an affordable price since I got my car.
