ive had my 307 estate 2.0 hdi 2004 for a few months now and have just got round to looking at the third brake light.

Got it off today to check the bulbs.

none of them look blown, id find it very hard to believe that all 5 look fine but are blown.

the rail is pretty corroded, cleaned up where thecontacts go and also the bulb holders. But still no joy.

main brake lights work fine.

Any ideas, checked the connector and it looks fine.

Oh and anyone trying to remove one on this estate (and apparently the sw aswell) the manual tells you to undo 2 bolts. there is none, caused me some confusion and i ended up managing to break it and need to super glue it back together.

you just have to put a screw driver in the holes to push the tabs up.

I believe it came like this, it passed its MOT like this. Not sure if thats a fail but ive heard off other minor things that in an MOT if its present it must work (cant remember what it was)

After looking at it again i noticed that it was actually working (hard to check without someone else)

at night i could see the top of the window light red just ever so slightly.

Had someone else check, 2 out of the 5 bulbs are working.

so its bad connections. ill have a go at cleaning up the connections again, bending the pins on the bulb holders out to make sure they are contacting the rail and hopefully it will work.

if its still iffy ill just order a new rear third brake light if they are still around.

Problem solved
