I have had my 3008 semi automatic since March and have had problems gearbox confusion....
The first time it happened we were on holiday in France and the gears were jumping between manual/automatic and jumping randomly into different gears and not in sequence...after a few minutes of that the whole car shut down. We had to use our breakdown to be rescued and were without the car for 5 days while it was being looked at at a Peugeot garage. When we collected it, they said there was nothing wrong with it after their diagnostics, just the computer needed re-booting. When we asked why it happened, they just said it was modern technology!
The 2nd time this happened started when we were in Toulouse (France again)...we were driving in automatic and suddenly it was not going into 4th gear...it just kept coming out of 4th and going back into third. We decided to drive in manual and this got us all the way from southern France until around 20 miles from home in Portsmouth, then the whole gearbox confusion thing happened again... not going into any gear properly... jumping between random gears...we managed to get it into 3rd gear and that was the only gear we could get it into, so we drove the last 20 miles in 3rd gear.
We re-booted the computer by disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours and the gearbox is now fine again. Something is very wrong with my car.
Peugeot say they don't know what the problem is and that I will have to take it for another Diagnostic test and pay another £70. Anyone have any idea what this could be please?
