have you spoken to a auto electrician to see if they could repair the loom?

 

Yes, I have, the car is currently sat at the auto electricians down the road and won't drive....Been there 3 weeks and they said they can only repair it with the part of the loom they need for the engine bay. To me that sounds like they will splice the connector from the 'new' loom to the old one and hope for the best....

Which part is knackered exactly? If it is the plugs, they are available from the dealer but generally speaking, they are not cheap.

 

I am not sure which part exactly, but based off the info they provided him it sounds like a plug issue. All they have said is they need the wiring harness (not loom, but what else would it be?) for the engine bay, and any we have found on the Bay they have dismissed!

Really starting to annoy me now, as he is using my car each day, and it has been 3 weeks......They just can't find one themselves!

 

For me the harness = loom

Sounds like they are taking the p*ss here....if they are using your car. If they can't definatively tell you what is wrong maybe you should go somewhere else with it
