206 won't start/cuts out

Hi,
I have an 04 1.1 206 and the engine management light has been coming on intermittently but the car has been running ok. However, today i tried to start the car and it wouldn't, this is the first time anything like this has happened (the management light wasn't on, ironically!)

. It eventually started but then cut out after a few seconds and I had to have my car towed to garage. The breakdown mechanic has advised that i get a diagnostics to determine the problem as he was unable to pinpoint it, I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what it might be.

Best thing to do there is get a global test done on the peugeot planet system.

Just as a guess i think your ecu has gone but most importantly get it on the machine. I do have stocks of ecu bsi and key fob kits. If you do need a new ecu just send me the numbers on yours and I will see if i have a matching one.

Thanks for your help and advice. I know this sounds stupid but what's the ecu bsi and what has the key fob got to do with it?????

I presume the ecu is the cars computer system, (though i could be completely wrong!!!) and i have a spare key with a card attached to it that has a code on it underneath a scratch off panel. Is this of any use/linked in any way?

mine done this this engine management light not coming on it was the permanent live to the engine ecu the wire was broken

the ecu is the heart of your vehicle and the key fob and bsi are coded to it as a trio its cheaper to buy all three coded instead of just the one and getting it flashed and programmed.
